New Look Festival Fashion

As you are probably aware If you read my blog regularly I love New Look! They are always reasonable in price, yet they only sell products of high quality and of the latest styles.

New Look Have published The Evolution of Festival Fashion

Obviously Kate moss has got be be the queen of festival carefree cool. Still worshiped now for her style. Kate was without a doubt the Cover girl of the 90's. So baring all that in mind and the fact I'm a fellow 90's girl. Britpop will have to be my favourite festival era of fashion. There is something ever so sexy about a girl that looks like they haven't made an effort but still looks stylish.

After Looking at the timeline, I started thinking about my all time favorite festival outfit and for me it's got to be Sienna Miller at Glastonbury in 2004.

This has got to be one of her most iconic outfits She rocked the bohemian look and looked effortlessly cool. Sienna has been many a girls festival inspiration. She is the only person to rival Kate Moss when it comes to this sort of look, don't you agree?

which era is your favourite on the timeline? do you agree with me that Kate Moss and Sienna Miller are the queens of festival looks? if not who's look Festival look do you love the most?

Miss Luxe Blogger style challenge

I was contacted by Miss Luxe and asked if I would like to take part in their blogger styling challenge, of course my answer was Yes!! 11 other bloggers and I were sent a dress with which we would have to style in three different ways.

The dress is a beautiful Red skater style dress with a lace design with hints of silver. I love this dress and I would definitely purchase if I saw it while out shopping or surfing the web.

The First Look was Summer Nights

I styled the dress with a little black belt to accentuate my waist. I wore Silver dangly earrings with silver bangles. The little black sequin clutch is perfect for your lippie and money on a night out! The shoes I picked were are my Louboutins that my Dave got me for my birthday a few years ago. I thought they would tie the look together perfectly as they are black with sliver diamantes and of course the famous red soles.

Look Two is Beach Break

I kept make up and jewellery to a minimum. I like to feel fresh and not worry about losing anything or having my make up run in the heat. I decided on my flat white and diamante sandals from Primark. They are so comfy and perfect for a sandy beach. A big floppy hat is one of my beach must haves as I always want to protect my face from the sun. The bag is my trusty Claireabella as Its perfect with my character also wearing a red dress plus I can fit my sunscreen and towels in it no problem.

Look Three is BFF Barbecue

I wanted to go for a casual yet still glamorous look so I opted for my tan wedges from New Look, My aviator style glasses to shield my eyes from the sun and smoke from the BBQ. My Tan Saddle bag is also from New Look and to complete the look I tied a thin tan belt around my waist

Which look is your favourite? Which picture do you like best and why?

What shape brows suit you?

What eyebrow shape - Brows - How to - Which eyebrow shape is best - round - curved - arched - flat

Every natural brow is different in shape, hair type and colour. It has been said it looks odd if your brows are exactly the same and you should aim to make them very similar looking sisters lol. To achieve the most flattering effect, you need to consider both facial and eye type.

There are five basic eyebrow shapes, with many variations on each one!

Round
Round brows curve over the eye without a defined arch. This softens the face, adding roundness. This shape helps tone down sharp facial features such as a pointed nose or chin.

Angled
As these brows slope in an upwards direction. This draws peoples eyes upwards giving a more youthful appearance. The sharp peak creates a strong brow that works well with other strong features like a square jawline. This look can also make a face appear thinner, so would work well on a round or square face shape.

Soft Angled
This is seen as the most classic shape,Similar to the angled with a softer arch and more subtle peak. This gives the face a soft feminine look. This works well on most face shapes. The softness of the arch and the exposed brow bone makes the eyes appear larger.

Curved
These brows dip slightly before rising and creating a defined arch. Can be really flattering on a oval or square face.

Flat
This shape makes a face appear shorter and perfect for longer faces. Eyebrows must be groomed as they can make eyes appear smaller.

The aim of the shapes is to make whatever face shape you have appear more oval. Which is the most sort after face shape. To find out what face shape you have click here

What shape eyebrows do you like? What shape do you have at the moment?
Stay tuned for more updated on face shapes and eyebrows!

OPI bubble bath with diamontes

OPI - Bubble Bath - nail polish - nail varnish - light pink nails - diamontes - nail designs

This week my I wanted a colour that goes with anything so I decided on a nail classic pale nude pink. My go to light pink shade has to be the beauty lovers favourite OPI bubble bath. such a versatile colour and I love how you can give a light coat for a classy sheen or a couple of coats for a more opaque classic pink. Feminine and girly without looking to young or over the top. This shade can carry you from the office to cocktails with the girls.

I love an OPI nail varnish the give amazing coverage and last for ages without chipping. I have been adding to my OPI collection quite a lot lately and although quite pricey. The quality of this varnish is second to none.

Me being me of course am never really one for understated and decided as much as I loved the colour it needed a bit of glitz. So added a line of white diamontes along the cuticle. I think this has helped make the whole look very me lol.

What are you wearing on your nails this week? Do you own bubble bath? What OPI shade do I need to get next?

Lots of love,
Laura x

LDNbloggerparty

If you happened to be up London Town on the 29th June. You may have seen a few bunches of dressed up, tipsy, ultra excited people. I'm not talking about the people going to gay pride which was also on no. I'm talking about the groups of excited bloggers lucky enough to have been invited to Scarlett's from Scarlett London  LDNBloggersparty!

I was one of those lucky people on the exclusive guest list. In the swish venue of Dirty martini in Hanover square, the event was a complete hit. With 2 for 1 on cocktails, SEO talks and a hair station, the atmosphere was amazing and everyone was getting on like a house on fire. I was so happy to finally meet some of my favourite bloggers but didn't manage to chat to everyone I would have liked to, as the event was so busy. If you was there and I didn't manage to say Hi, I'm really sorry and hopefully we can catch up at a future event. The Bloggers that I did manage to talk to however were so friendly and even more beautiful in real life than in their pics and you tube videos. It was lovely to finally meet these fantastic bloggers

Scarlett did an incredible job of organising the event and if you attended I'm sure you will join me in thanking her for a lovely day and for our amazing goodie bags. I had a fantastic day and cant wait to see you all at the next event.

Spa Fit Firming & Toning Gel - Cream Massager

I like I'm sure many of us do I suffer from the awful curse of a womanhood cellulite. A few years ago I didn't have  a millimetre of the stuff and didn't understand how annoying this blooming stuff is. Everyone used to say Oh Laura you'll never get it if you don't already have it but as I have gotten older. I find it has made itself at home on my thighs and bum. It now appears to be quite settled in and keen on raising children Lol.

I know exercise is the way forward and have asked my good friend and personal trainer Chloe to come up with a routine targeting cellulite areas affected. I thought I might get her to do another guest post explaining the best exercises to remove it. If you haven't already have a glimpse of her summer body work out post here

In the meantime there must be something I can do to improve the look of my orange peel thighs! So when in the body shop chatting to the lovely staff at the lakeside branch. I asked if they had anything that they could recommend. The assistant I was talking to showed me one of the body shops latest products called Spa Fit firming and toning gel. At £19.00 it isn't cheap but she assured me she used it herself and could see an improvement.

I got myself a bottle praying this would at least help while waiting for the results of exercise and diet. The bottle has a massager attached to the bottle and the product is released directly on to this. The massager helps you work the product into the skin and is hard enough to help break up the cellulite.

The body shop say:  Twist the applicator to release the gel-cream. Massage into thighs using a using firm, circular motion, working up to the buttocks. Finish the application with hands using light, upward strokes until all the gel-cream is absorbed.

This zesty gel-cream is a wake-up call for the body. Use it with its integrated massage applicator to leave skin feeling firmer and looking more toned.
  • Makes skin feel firmer
  • Leaves skin looking more toned
  • Integrated massage applicator
  • Caffeine and citrus ingredients
  • Zesty scent

When using you feel a ever so slight tingling sensation and the zesty scent is really lovely. I noticed an improvement in the skin after just one use the massager left my skin slightly red but this soon calmed down. My skin looked and felt firmer to touch. I love this product and without a doubt would recommend to anyone with similar problems. I will continue to use and hopefully I will have amazing legs with the help of this and my exercises.

Have you tired this product? What do you use to get rid of cellulite? Have you found a cheaper alternative?

Lots of Love,
Laura x

Make your hairstyle last with the right hair styling products

Style - Holding - Hair - products - Mousse - styling gel - How to use - hairspray - moulding clay

Hold and durability of a hairstyle are one of the most important things when styling hair. You don't want to spend a lifetime curling teasing, back combing and using cans of hairspray for you hair to only look fantastic for a total of ten minutes. With this in mind choosing and using the correct hairstyling products is as important as your actual abilities to dress hair.

I thought it might be a good idea to share some of the products available which add hold to your style.  When you should use this product? What it is meant to do? How to apply the product? There are hundreds of different hair styling products for men and women available, so always read manufactures instruction to get the most out of a product.

Styling Mousse

When?
Use on damp hair before sectioning and drying.

What?
A styling mousse is used to add volume and adding hold to a style.

How?
Apply a blob the size of a small orange evenly through the hair.

Styling Gel/Glaze

When?
Not suited to use with blow drying as not easy to work with. Best used with finger drying and scrunch dry techniques.

What?
A wet look firm hold finish on shorter styles.

How?
Apply a pea sized amount with fingertips.

Moulding Clay

When?
Used on damp or dry hair. used to give texture on all hair lengths.

What?
A styling and finishing product that bonds hair with a firm hold.

How?
(Damp hair) Apply small pea sized amount with the fingertips evenly all over hair.
(Dry hair) Apply pea sized amount to ends of hair for texture and definition.

Hairspray

When?
Used as a final fixative as an overall style sealer or applied as a scrunching textural finish.

What?
A finishing product that is available in a variety of holds and strengths.

How?
Apply a mist to hair around 30 - 40 cm away from the hair for a fixed hold on dry hair.

I hope that this has helped show you which products you need to fix your style for longer and how to use them. I review different brands hair products on my blog regularly. So keep your eyes open for which ones I think are worth a buy or those which I don't believe work.

What hair styling products do you like to use on your hair? Which products have you found amazing at adding hold? Are you going to use any of your products differently now?

Lots of Love,
Laura x
