YOSO Lash curler

YOSO Lash curlers - Eyelash curler - Heated curlers - beauty crowd - review - beauty tools - make up tools

Today's post is all about Yoso heated eyelash curlers*. One of my make up bag staples is an eyelash curler. They can make a real difference to your lashes and open up your eyes. I have owned many different eyelash curlers but never a heated pair before.

The curler comes with a detailed instruction manual and a hygiene brush to make cleaning your curler a breeze. The curler itself is sleek and easy to store in the form of a pretty golden wand no bigger than a normal mascara wand. Meaning the wand slips neatly into your makeup bag without any problems and runs off of a battery so you can take it with you on your travels.

It only takes a minute to heat up and doesn't get so hot I'd be scared to apply near my eyes. Its really easy to use all you need to do is hold the heater against the root at a right angle and after a few seconds remove. I  tend to find 5 seconds is enough and gives real long lasting results. The fab little heater at the top is great for reaching the tricky inner lashes and it also has a comb which is great for separating your lashes.

YOSO Lash curlers - Eyelash curler - Heated curlers - beauty crowd - review - beauty tools - make up tools

YOSO say:
This heated eyelash curler creates a dramatic uplift and a long lasting curl for your lashes. The main heater allows lashes to be swept up and curled, whilst the unique small point heater tackles the tricky corner lashes for maximised dramatic volume. Finish the look by combing through to add precise definition. The compact and slim design makes this beauty pen a suitable addition to any make-up bag and also features a handy heat indicator, letting you know when the pen is ready to use. The YOSO LASHES will ensure your eyelashes stay defined and curled for longer than usual; perfect for your special night out or simply to keep you looking bright eyed through a busy day.

One of the things which really sets this apart from a normal pair of lash curlers. is the way it gives a natural curl with out  harsh angle that you often get with metal curlers. The curl also lasts a lot longer than with normal curlers. From now on it's heated curlers all the way for me.

You can get your own from The Beauty Crowd here and at only £15.99 not only does it out perform my normal curlers it also is a lot cheaper.

Lots of Love,
Laura x

Passion peel off mask

Montagne Jennesse - Facemask - Peel off Passion - pore reducing mask - review - swatch - skincare - facial skincare

I have discussed in previous posts that I'm quite lucky with my skin, yet the one persistent issue is my visible pores. I'm constantly trying to minimise them and have found some amazing products that really do help yet my next mission was to find a face mask that aids me on my quest for better skin.

Facemasks are the perfect way to unwind and really can help fix your skin issues. Yet most available aid dry skin or greasy skin. So could I find a mask that would actually help my very specific skin problem. After a quick chat with the lovely people at Montagne Jeunesse, they recommended passion peel off mask* and kindly sent me a pack to try out.

Crammed packed with passion flower (Passion flowers are rich in Vitamins C and A and Potassium. Both antibacterial and healing, skin is left clean, purified and protected) and Pomegranate (Pomegranates are renowned for their anti-aging benefits and antioxidant content. They are packed full of Vitamins A, C and E that protect the skin from free-radicals while cleansing) The mask gently cleanses the skin leaving it feeling refreshed and smelling beautiful. While the drying quality of the mask helps tighten pores and protect the skin from impurities.

Montagne Jennesse - Facemask - Peel off Passion - pore reducing mask - review - swatch - skincare - facial skincare

Montagne Jeunesse say:
Gently peel away dead skin with our amazing Passion Peel Off deep cleansing masque. Our Pomegranate and Passion Flower formula cleans, purifies and protects leaving your skin feeling fresh and radiant.

• Gluten Free
• Nut Derivative Free
• No Added Parabens

The mask couldn't be easier to use and unlike the conventional mud mask is mess free so perfect for a quick pamper. You cleanse and dry your face as you would normally. Then apply a thin layer over the face and neck. Sit back and enjoy the gorgeous fruity scent till the mask dries then peel off to leave fresh feeling skin.

The mask can take a little while to dry and took about  20 minutes in total but I loved the results. My skin felt soft, looked brighter and my pores were tiny after use. Hooray I'm totally sold on this and will be purchasing these to use weekly in future. And at £1 I couldn't be happier!

Lots of love,
Laura x

Simon & Tom Moroccan Treatment

Simon & Tom - Hair serum - hair oil - hair treatment - Moroccan treatment - review - Swatch - hair products

I love long and lustrous hair yet my constant bleaching and dying of my hair often leaves it looking lacklustre and dry. Even with regular trims, I find my hair needs a helping hand to looking its best. So when asked if I would like to try Simon & Tom Moroccan treatment* I was more than willing to give it a shot.

The oil comes in a dark glass bottle and looks of extremely high quality. It also comes with a pump which is a god send meaning you don't waste any product and can add as little or as much as you need. The oil itself is rich and golden, I find I need a lot less product than with other brands. So this bottle will last me a much longer time. It has a really pleasant scent, that lingers on your hair till the next wash which is fab.

I'm a big fan of oil hair treatments and find they add shine to even the most dull and damaged hair. However I do find some leave your hair quite greasy looking if your hair isn't that damaged however after trying on my mums much healthier hair this wasn't at all the case with this product. Proving that this is the perfect hair oil for all hair types not just damaged parched hair.

Simon & Tom - Hair serum - hair oil - hair treatment - Moroccan treatment - review - Swatch - hair products

  • Produces remarkable results day after day for beautifully smooth and conditioned hair
  • Restores shine and softness to damaged hair and increases its elasticity and inner strength
  • Can be used on wet or dry hair for all day long protection and frizz resistance
  • Its unique formula includes blend of natural nutrient rich ingredients such as Argan Oil

Simon & Tom - Hair serum - hair oil - hair treatment - Moroccan treatment - review - Swatch - hair products

I have tried cheaper hair oils and as soon as I stop using them my hair goes back to its damaged state making me think they are more of a styling aid rather than a product that actually improves the condition of your hair. So to really test the claim that this hair treatment restores inner hair strength I stopped using after a few weeks and I'm blown away. My hair is still much more manageable and my broken hair feels less frizzy. In general my hair feels silky and looks much healthier. So although there are lots of cheaper products I would recommend spending the little bit extra for long lasting results. Obviously I am now using again after every wash!

If you're looking for a product that really does what it claims, then this is for you! Simon & Tom is available from amazon for £29.90 you can get yours here

Lauren's Way - Dark Self tan Bronzing Lotion

Lauren's way - False tan - Fake tan - Dark tan - Self tan - Self tan bronzing lotion - comparison - results - swatches - Lauren Goodger

If you read my blog regularly then you will know I'm a fake tan addict! After trying Lauren's Way 60 solution which I loved and you can read all about here. When Lauren's Way asked if I would like to try their Dark self tan Bronzing lotion*, I was really excited.

When first applying I admit I was a bit scared as the colour is DARK.  Yet as soon as you start to smooth out the lotion, it blends to a much lighter, less scary colour. The formula is smooth, not at all sticky and really easy to blend, which is brilliant. The guide colour makes it easy to see if you have missed any bits, so no white patches. It dries really quickly leaving me with a instantly dark golden tan. The speed in which it dried really impressed me as lotion tans tend to take that bit longer to dry.

Lauren's way - False tan - Fake tan - Dark tan - Self tan - Self tan bronzing lotion - comparison - results - swatches - Lauren Goodger

One of my favourite things about this tan that makes it stand out above others is the scent! There literally isn't one! when applying it gives off a slightly citrus scent yet not as strong as with the 60 minute tan. Yet when you have washed off the colour guide you're left totally scent free! Meaning that it doesn't at all interfere with the scent of your body lotions or perfume.

Lauren's way say:
For a flawless, luxurious tan, LW Dark Self Tan Bronzing Lotion is a silky smooth, rich formula that leaves skin looking radiant.
Perfect for parties, this Self Tan Lotion dries instantly and adds plenty of glamour to your look!
The LW TAN Dark range is fab for medium/olive skin tones. Dark gives a deep, bronzed colour in just one application.
Tanning experts will truly appreciate this deluxe, advanced formulation from LW!

My skin felt so soft and nourished, even before applying moisturiser. which for my already slightly dry skin is amazing. It gave an even flawless coverage, that lasted a whole week. Without going patchy or uneven it just faded slightly more after each wash.I have been using this for the past month or so and still haven't found any faults in the formula or results. I'm so impressed and with the party season coming up this is perfect for a natural flawless tan. I know I can apply this and not worry about any tanning disaster.

Lilac drops necklace

Lilac drops - necklace - statement jewellery - statement necklace - teaseflutterpout - tfp - pastel jewellery - pastel necklace - review

A few months ago I was lucky enough to get sent a bunch of goodies from Gemma at BelloBoutique26 including this stunning Lilac drops necklace*. It really is a beautiful piece that will dress up any outfit.

With the pretty pastel shade of the stones, its a perfect match for one of the seasons biggest trends this season. Pastel colours have been all over the catwalk and are swiftly becoming an Autumn/Winter must have. I love how shades normally reserved for spring and summer are being teamed with the darker tones of the colder months. One of my favourite ways to wear the trend is by pairing pastel jewellery and accessories with neutrals.

Lilac drops - necklace - statement jewellery - statement necklace - teaseflutterpout - tfp - pastel jewellery - pastel necklace - review

The necklace has oval pastel lilac stones that are backed onto brass and surrounded with pretty light reflecting crystals. The necklace is truly stunning, it feels and looks really expensive. I really love how although big and on trend its not at all garish and has an air of class about it.

What do you think of this necklace? Will you be wearing the pastel trend this A/W? What would you wear this necklace with? Let me know all your thoughts by commenting below.

Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 - hour Dollface blush

Tarte - Amazonian Clay 12 hour blush - blusher - pink blusher - review - wearing product - swatch - dollface - cool toned blusher - blue toned blusher

As a blush addict I have been longing to get my hands on Tarte Amazonian clay blush. I spent ages trying to decide which shade to get and after reading millions of reviews I decided on Dollface. Dollface is a light cool blue toned pink. It looks quite bright in the pan but swatches as a cool yet natural looking pink. It is a beautiful light pink without looking at all clownish.

Tarte - Amazonian Clay 12 hour blush - blusher - pink blusher - review - wearing product - swatch - dollface - cool toned blusher - blue toned blusher

The blush in the pan quite hard, it will without doubt withstand a bit of a beating. It's great to have a blush you dont have to worry about it breaking. Although appearing tightly pressed, it's easy to pick up on a brush. Don't be deceived into thinking you need a lot of swirling of the brush to pick up any product as you really don't need much product due to its pigmentation. The pan will last you forever. I have been using this constantly and haven't even made a mark on it.

Tarte - Amazonian Clay 12 hour blush - blusher - pink blusher - review - wearing product - swatch - dollface - cool toned blusher - blue toned blusher

Even though its hard in the pan, it feels so soft on the skin. The texture is beautiful and feels like it almost melts into the skin, which makes it perfect for blending. I was really surprised at how it feels, hard yet it can feel so buttery on the skin. I'm guessing this is down to the added clay.

The packaging is gorgeous and comes in the shade of the blush inside which I think is a really cute idea. It also comes with a large mirror which I'm always thankful for.

I love a light pink blush but find they often fade quicker than most shades. So dollface is the perfect shade to try out Tarte's 12 hour claim. I wouldnt say its fade free but it does leave a long lasting colour almost tinting or staining the skin. It lasts 8 hours without fading but the stain lasts about 10 hours. Which although not the full 12 hours it still is really impressive.

Tarte - Amazonian Clay 12 hour blush - blusher - pink blusher - review - wearing product - swatch - dollface - cool toned blusher - blue toned blusher

I really think it will be flattering for all skintones, but especially on paler skins as it gives a pretty flushed look. It is really buildable so you can layer it up to make it work for you although on darker skin tones it will come across as a much subtler shade.

Have you tried any Tarte Products? Do you own any similar shades? What blush are you loving at the moment?

Lots of Love,
Laura x

Ombre, Sombre or dipdye?

The Ombre look is still a firm favourite with the A list and is a hair trend that doesn't appear to be going anywhere soon. With three main variations of the look, from the subtle faded look of the sombre to the bold contrasting dipdye. Which style should you be asking for at the salon? Do you know your Ombre from your Sombre?

Hair trends - ombre - ombre hair - ombre trend - Ombre hair trend - ombre meaning - celebs with ombre - Sombre - sombre meaning - soft ombre - subtle ombre - sombre hair trend - celebs with sombre hair - sombre trend - sombre hair trend - Dip dye hair - dip dye trend - dip dye hair trend - Celebs with dip dye hair

Ombre
What it means - A french term which means shaded.

What it is- A multi-tonal hair affect in which the ends are significantly lighter than the roots. The contrast from roots to end is stark yet the change should be gradual with slight blending. Balayage highlights can be added to help blend the shades.

The look - The aim of ombre to give a grown out sunkissed look.

Sombre
What it means - a subtle/soft version of ombre

What it is - A subtle graduation from a darker toned root to lighter ends. The difference is much less notciable than with ombre with the shades picked being less stark in difference. Bayalage highlights are often used to take the lighter and darker through the hair.

The look -  A natural subtle grown out sunkissed look.

Dipdye
What it means - A two toned or multi tonal effect where the top half of the hair is a totally different colour to the ends.

What it is - The top half of the hair can be left natural or coloured. the ends can be any shade as long as it's a different colour from the ends. There is no blending giving a stark contrast in hues.

The look - The look gives the impression the ends of the hair have been dipped into dye.

I hope this guide helped you understand the differences between the three different looks. I'd love to hear which you like best. Are you sporting any of the above trends? The Body Shop - Bronze Shimmer Waves

The Body Shop - Shimmer Waves - bronze - bronzer - golden shimmer - golden sheen - highlighter - make up - Review - bronzer - eyeshadow - swatches

Even though the sunny summer already seems a distant memory, if your anything like me you'll still like your skin to have a healthy glow. Then Shimmer Waves* from The Body Shop is definitely worth a look.

I love a light shimmer to my skin and the warmth a bronzer adds. So this product is perfect for me. Although it looks really shimmery and glittery in the pan, the bronzer itself gives a soft not at all over the top shimmer to the skin. It's really blendable and can be used as to give a subtle bronzed sheen to the skin or built up for a deeper golden glow.

I was amazed at how versatile this product is. Not only can it be used as a beautiful golden toned bronzer but you can use the individual shades as eyeshadows for bronzed shimmer eye look.  I have also used the lightest colour as a highlighter. It really is a great multiuse product with each of the different uses creating an equally as pretty look as the last.

Overall I'm really impressed by this product and it has become my go to bronzer for adding a bit of life to my dull winter skin. Its also really fab for popping in your on the go make up bag as you can use it in so many ways.

Tea Tree Pore Minimiser

The Body Shop - Tea Tree - Pore minimiser - Facial Skin - skincare - Primer - Review - swatches - mattifying

I'm quite lucky with my skin and don't really suffer from any major outbreaks or shiny skin. I get the occasional hormone spot and sometimes my skin can feel a bit dry. Saying that the biggest issue I have and will try anything to get rid of is my open pores. I have open pores on both my nose and cheeks.

I use this product* after moisturising as a serum before applying my make up. It makes for an amazing primer as it doesn't sit on the skin, yet leaves your skin feeling and looking smooth. Which is great for creating the perfect base for your make up. Although mattifying it isn't at all drying which is great as my skin has the tendency to dry out

The Body Shop - Tea Tree - Pore minimiser - Facial Skin - skincare - Primer - Review - swatches - mattifying

The Body Shop says:
Our new Tea Tree Pore Minimiser makes pores look smaller. Infused with Community Fair Trade organic tea tree oil, it smoothes, primes and mattifies, and leaves skin feeling fresh and pure.
  • Minimises the appearance of pores
  • Mattifies for a shine-free finish
  • Leaves skin feeling fresh and pure
  • Ideal base for make-up
Although it hasn't totally gotten  rid of my pores, I feel like it has significantly reduced them. which I'm really impressed by. Also you only need the smallest amount so it will last you a long time, which is always a bonus.

I really recommend trying this if you have noticeable pores, its not overly expensive at £7.50  and has helped reduce my pores even when slap free. Plus it makes my make up last that bit longer, what more could you want.

Do you suffer with visable pores? Which products do you use to minimise your pores? Have you tried any of The Body Shop Skincare?

The Body Shop - Eyeshadow Brush

The Body Shop - Eyeshadow Brush - Brushes - Review - Make up Brush - Synthetic bristles - highstreet - eyeshadow application - Beauty - Beauty Basics

A good eyeshadow brush is a must have for any beauty lover! This is my first make up brush* from The Body Shop, yet after loving so many of their products lately, I did have high hopes that this would be another hit.

It hasn't at all disappointed, with a solid handle with a thick end it is nicely weighted and easy to control whilst fitting comfortably in your hand. The bristles are synthetic and really packed together without any gaps or stray bristles so you get an even application. The actual brush is flat and tapered so it's amazing at precision application. The bristles are super soft and is the perfect shape for applying cream eyeshadows.

The Body Shop - Eyeshadow Brush - Brushes - Review - Make up Brush - Synthetic bristles - highstreet - eyeshadow application - Beauty - Beauty Basics

Overall I'm really impressed with the quality of the brush, especially for the £9.00 price tag! It is without doubt as good as my similar, much more expensive brush ,at half the price. This eyeshadow brush from The Body Shop is swiftly becoming one of my most used eyeshadow brushes. I use this religiously for applying my cream and loose pigment products, I then use one of my other blending eyeshadow brushes to blend the product, to give a really flawless and professional finish. You can get your own eyeshadow brushes from The Body Shop here.

Make up Revolution - Vivid Baked Highlighter - pink lights - peach lights - golden lights - shimmer - swatches - compact - make up - highlighters - baked highlighters - review

Make up Revolution has been taking the beauty world by storm and its no surprise with beautiful products like these. One of their most popular products is without doubt their highlighters, so I had to get my hands on them to investigate. The powder based highlighters are available in three different shades, Pink lights, Golden lights and peach lights.

The packaging is quite basic with a black plastic base and a clear plastic lid however I think they all look more expensive than their £3  price tag. The design of the actual highlighter is clearly based around macs extra dimension highlighters. However I can't help but think they look like an abstract artists version of lady bits lol Not that its relevant at all but it makes me giggle to myself every time I look at them lol.

They are all extremely pigmented so these will last you forever as you only need the smallest bit of product. which I find a lot with baked products. All shades are extremely buildable as well so perfect for use whatever the occasion as you can have a subtle glow or a full on look depending on your preference. Which is brilliant as I find this is one of the major pitfalls with cheaper make up. They are quite soft to the touch and don't have any big glitter particles in them, which I know a lot of people hate.

My personal favourite is the peach shade but I really like how each shade is totally different. So I now have the perfect shade of highlighter no matter what the look. They really are a bargain, If make up revolution added more colours to the range. I would without doubt purchase them.

Which shade do you prefer? Have you tried any of these highlighters? Which of the make up revolution products do you recommend?

Autumn Morning Bouquet - Debenhams Flowers

Debenhams - Flowers - Bouquet - Bunch - Roses - lillies - carnations - Autumn Flowers - Luxury bouquets

A few weeks ago I was contacted by Debenhams flowers and asked if I would like to review one of their autumn bouquets. After scanning through their beautiful Autumn flowers range, I decided on the autumn morning bouquet. I loved the bright and warm colours.

The flowers arrived in a big cardboard box and where stunningly presented in a light green wrapping. Most of the flowers were still buds which is a great sign that the flowers where freshly arranged before postage and will last longer than open blooms.

The bouquet itself comprises of delicate yellow roses whose petals are rimmed with a stunning coral shade,as well as vibrant orange lilies and pretty pink carnations. The burnt oranges and yellows are perfect for the autumnal months. It really is beautifully constructed and the colours look breathtaking against the crisp green leaves.

The whole bouquet lasted just over a week, with the roses being the first to wilt yet were still filling the room with a beautiful scent even right till the end. The carnations and lillies lasted nearly 10 days in total which I'm really impressed by.

Although not the cheapest place online to get flowers, my flowers were long lasting, full of colour and really had the wow factor. Also if my bouquet is anything to go by it is without doubt worth the money , unlike other cheaper bouquets. Mine was full to the brim with budding flowers rather than a just a few and lots of foliage to bulk it out. Debenhams is a company reowned for quality and they haven't disappointed.

They have a wide selection of bouquets from a variety of different ranges. Such as the decedent Luxury Flowers range and their amazing Next Day Flowers which if ordered before 7pm can be with you the very next day. All the bouquets are beautiful in their own unique way.  If you're looking to send a loved one a truly gorgeous bunch of flowers or wanting to brighten up your own home this autumn. I recommend you take a look at the lovely seasonal bunches in the autumn flowers range, as they really will lift your mood as the nights grow darker.

I'm really pleased to announce that I can offer my readers an exclusive discount of 40%
by using the Code DFBLOG40
The code can be used on flowers from most ranges. The only range exempt from the discount is the flowers by post range.

What do you think of my bouquet? Which Bouquets from the Debenhams flower site do your like best? Will you be treating yourself or a loved one to a bouquet using the code?

I love Chocolate palette

I love make up - I heart make up - I love chocolate - I heart chocolate - eyeshadow palette - swatches - review - unblended - satin - matte - glitter - pressed eyeshadow - make up revolution - chocolate make up - chocolate bar - too faced dupe

After being majorly impressed with Make up Revolution I couldn't wait to try there sister brand I <3 makeup! After reading reviews online of there amazing dupe of the too faced chocolate bar. It was automatically added to my wishlist.

The outer packaging is gorgeous and heavily inspired by the chocolate bar palette, giving the appearance of an actual chocolate bar. The inside is much more cheaper looking but for £7.99, you can't really complain and it does have a really big mirror which is really useful. Unlike the Too faced palette it doesn't have the rich coco scent and has a light chemical chocolatey scent but it is quite faint and not at all offensive.

It contains 16 eyeshadows, all of which are individually named. There is a good mix of mattes and shimmery tones, The more shimmery colours do have slight fallout but not anything major. They are all buttery and soft to touch. The shades are all really pigmented and last all day which is great. Some of the shades look totally different swatched to how they do in the pan but I think they are actually more wearable and can be built up to create a variety of looks.

I'm really impressed with this palette and would really recommend if you have had your eye on the too faced chocolate palette but aren't so keen on the price tag. Some of the shades are exact dupes and some are ever so slightly different. I'm really fond of this palette and think all the shades are gorgeous, so this is a real bargain buy.

Lots of Love,
