Soap & Glory Hand Food

Hand food - Soap & glory - Boots - Hand cream - review - swatch
As with every other soap and glory body product this one smells delicious. I am yet to find a soap and glory product, I don't love the scent of. Its like every product they bring out they check off a Laura's scent wishlist.

This product reminds me of strawberries and marshmallows. Light but sweet and really beautiful. Hand cream to me is really important and a product often over looked by many beauty lovers. Your hands are constantly on show and probably one of the most abused parts of the body, other than feet. So I think its important to give them an extra bit of pampering. You can remove the signs of ages from most places but your hands are with you for life and they are one of the first to give away your age.

For this reason, I feel its important to look after my hands. Plus no matter how great your nails are if you have granny hands, it will ruin the look of your latest nail polish.

I try to remember to moisturise my hands after washing them. yet can't stand the wet greasy feeling you are left with from other hand creams. This is one of the reasons, I love using this as it is really quick drying. So is perfect for use on the go. I find I have to reapply to get a deep down moisturisation, however it does leave your hands feeling soft and supple without any greasiness.

Hand food - Soap & glory - Boots - Hand cream - review - swatch
Apply a little Soap & Glory Hand Food™ Hand Cream 125ml as often as you want to soften, smooth and soothe dry, chapped or otherwise hampered hands and relish in the delightful aromas of fresh bergamot, strawberries and mandarin, with floral and fruity midnotes, and musk, amber and warm vanilla.  The most astonishing hand cream ever?  You decide!Soap & Glory™ formulas are not tested on animals, only very picky people.

If you really suffer with dry sore hands I recommend using L'occitane's hand cream, yet if you just want to keep your hands in good condition this is a great alternative. It is also a lot cheaper at an amazing £5.00. After using this for a few week my hands are softer, my nails and cuticles look so much healthier. I will definitely be repurchasing.

Have you tried this? Which hand creams do you use? Are you guilty of neglecting your mitts?

The Seven Sins of Haircare

These are the seven sins of haircare, most of us are guilty of at least one. It's time to stop sinning and gain access to hair heaven!

1. Brushing wet hair - When hair is wet its at its most vulnerable. Brushing wet hair pulls at the root and the thinly spaced bristles can snag and can cause the hair to snap. Use a wide tooth comb to  eliminate tangles on wet hair as the teeth are widely spaced and glide easier through hair, causing much less damage.

2. Over conditioning your hair -  A lot of us are committing a major conditioner crime by over conditioning our locks. Conditioner should only be used on the mid sections and ends of the hair were the scalps natural oils don't reach. Adding conditioner to the roots which are already coated with natural oils, will cause limp, lifeless hair.

3. Apply product to soaking wet hair - We have all done it your in a rush, so we try to speed up getting ready by applying moose or leave in conditioner on our freshly washed barnet straight after stepping out the shower. However doing this you're wasting product. Wet hair isn't as porous so your products just slip off the strands rather attach to the hair shaft. Apply your products to damp hair to make the most of your products.

4. Rubbing your hair with a towel -  Rubbing the hair shaft with a towel disrupts the hair cuticle, damaging hair. Which in turn creates frizz and makes hair less manageable. Instead use your towel to wrap around the hair, then press lightly with the towel to help soak up as much water as possible.

5. Over washing hair - A lot of us with greasy hair feel the need to wash our hair daily some even wash their hair multiple times a day. However this is one of the worst things you can do as this strips the hair of natural oils. Hair often becomes greasy when the scalp produces too much sebum, so when you wash your hair you actually stimulate the sebum glands making them produce more oil. In turn making your hair greasier. Need to freshen up greasy locks try a dry shampoo.

6. Leaving split ends - Ignoring split ends is a sin most of us are guilty of at some point. As much as I wish there was a miracle treatment to repair split ends. Remedies and treatments may make them look better or at best temporarily seal them together. The only way to get rid of split ends is to have them cut off. Split ends are a lot like ladders in a pair of tights when left they travel up the shaft and continue to split unless stopped and cut off.

7. Not Leaving conditioner on long enough - Another conditioner crime! No matter how much you have spent on a product you wont get the most of the product if you wash it straight out. To make the most of a conditioner, you need to let the conditioner penetrate the hair. After applying conditioner leave it on for a few minutes before washing off. This will give the time to let the conditioner go to work.

Which hair care sins do you commit? Will you be changing your sinning ways? Are you guilty of any other hair crimes?

St Patrick's Day nail art

St Patricks day - nail art - nail polish - nail design

Today's St Patrick's day the day where people all over the world celebrate there Irish heritage no matter how distant or non-existent. So happy St Paddy's day, whether you really are of Irish descent or just wanting to take part in the festivities. Here is my Irish inspired nail art, created with Barry M nail paints.

to create this look I used spring green from Barry M on my little, middle and index fingers. I then used Barry M instant effects polish in gold foil. I painted this on both my ring fingers and thumbs.

St Patricks day - nail art - nail polish - nail design

To add a real Irish feel, I painted little shamrocks over the gold on my ring fingers. I created the shamrocks by dipping the tip of an orange stick in Barry M racing green. To finish of the look, I then added a coat of gold glitter from Barry M. I painted this on top of the gold on my thumbs.

St Patricks day - nail art - nail polish - nail design

I love the finished look and think it turned out really well. What do you think? What are you wearing on your nails this week? Did you do any St Patrick day's nail art?

Wear pink to make the boys wink, spring/summer 2014

I'm loving so many of the trends coming up this spring and summer! While purple and orange are dominating the beauty trends. This season pink is one of the biggest trends in the fashion world. As a real girlie girl at heart I'm really excited to get my pink on.

Adding some hints of pink to your spring wardrobe, is an easy way to update your look. One of the best things about this trend is the shades of pink varied from catwalk show to catwalk show. So you can pick a shade that suits you.

Head to toe pink was featured strongly as was pairing two or more different hues of pink together. Choosing pink is also a brilliant way to bring some of the key trends together. Picking pink's over other shades is a perfect way to make the sport luxe trend that bit more feminine. Or look for clothes that feature embellishment, lace or metallics to really be on trend.

Will you be teaming pink with an other trends? Which trend are you looking forward to wearing? Will you be wearing pink at all this spring/summer? Which shade of pink suits you best?

L'oreal Skin perfection Micellar Solution

Loreal - Skin perfection - Micellar solution - micellar water - skincare - review - cleanser

Micellar water is nothing new and has been pouring all over the skincare world. Literally it has flooded the market ( like what I did there) After trying Loreal's skin perfection day cream and being so impressed I wanted to try more of the range.

I have been using this for a while now and all in all have enjoyed using it. Although there are definitely some things I would change about the product.

The packaging looks the most expensive in a tall clear plastic bottle. in my opinion the packaging looks the classiest of all the high-street micellar waters available. However whoever designed this bottle was obviously focusing on the wrong thing as the hole used to dispense the product is just that a massive gaping hole.

I find I waste so much product when applying the solution to a cotton pad, it goes everywhere! Once I had realised this I was much more careful when using it but really the whole thing could easily have been avoided if they had designed it better.

Loreal - Skin perfection - Micellar solution - micellar water - skincare - review - cleanser
This is perfect for people with sensitive skin as it is really gentle and soothing. It doesn't leave skin at all tight and leaves skin feeling fresh and clean.

L'OrĂ©al Paris Skin Perfection Purifying Micellar Water, high performance cleansing for sensitive skin. Used by make-up artists, the 'micellar' solution swiftly removes all traces of make-up and acts like a purifying magnet on skin's surface to capture and draw out excess oil and impurities. So gentle, skin feels soothed and toned. Hypo-allergenic. No Alcohol. Dermatologically tested.

I personally use micellar waters as a make up remover rather than as a cleanser. I never feel like they penetrate the skin deep enough to give a really deep down clean. Yet on lazy days this is still better than a face wipe!

This does remove my make up with the greatest of ease and doesn't make your eyes sting when removing hard to shift mascara. I love that after a few wipes all traces of make up have disappeared from your skin with no rubbing needed.

For £4.99 I think its a brilliant product, Its often on offer as well where you can get it even cheaper. I would definitely repurchase!!  I only wish they would change the lid!

Have you tried this? Do you use it as a cleanser or just to remove your make up? Which Micellar water do you like best?

Lots of love,
Laura x

Rock an orange lip - Which shade will suit you?

Celeb - Orange lipstick - Make up - choosing lipstick - how to - orange lip

One of the other key beauty trends this spring and summer other than purple is orange.
This trend involves natural looking make up with all the emphasis on the lips. Seen all over the catwalks and celebs this trend isn't going anywhere fast.

Athough it can seem quite frightening when pulled off correctly the look is fun and stylish. Here is my guide to wearing this trend.

Match the shade to your skin

Tanned skins
Orange looks with tanned or olive toned skin. If this is you go bold and neon. For added wow factor try a matte bright orange. Go as bold and as bright as you dare!

Darker Skins
Richer and burnt orange shades look best against your skin tone. Matte or gloss you can wear it all.

Fairer skins
To stop the orange washing you out go for a softer tint or a lipstick with a hint of shine rather than an opaque matte. Opt for a coral or peach toned orange as this is most flattering to you skin tone. Pastel shades look really pretty as well.

Match pick an orange shade based on your skin tone.

To find out which skin tone you have check out this post What skin tone do you have?

Cool skin tones
To compliment the cool tones to your skin, go for a red or coral based lipstick

Warm skin tones
The best shades to go for are yellow or golden based orange colours.

How to wear it?
  • When wearing a statement colour like Orange its important to play down your eyes and let your lips do the talking.
  • To really rock this look go for a natural look on the rest of your face a few lashings of mascara and a slick of black eyeliner should be as bold as your eye make up gets.
  • If your going to wear a blusher go for a similar tone as your lipstick, Yet keep it light otherwise you'll look like a clown.

Will you be rocking this trend? Have you got any orange lipsticks? Which colours will you be wearing on your lips this spring?

Lots of Love,
Laura x

NARS Orgasm VS Sleek Rose Gold

NARS - Orgasm - Sleek - Rose gold - blusher - vs - camparison - dupe -review - swatch

I have already featured these both before on TeaseFlutterPout. Nars Orgasm is a cult classic and a blusher that I would really recommend I find the colour really flattering and really easy to use. Yet like all Nars make up it unfortunately doesn't come cheap. You can read my full review of Orgasm here.

So as my go to blusher I am constantly on the look out for a cheaper version. After discussing this with many a beauty blogger and make up fanatic, one product kept coming up time and time again and that was Sleeks Rose gold. I have the rose gold blusher in my face form palette and as I stated in that review which you can read here. I am a big fan of the shade, I even say in the post that It is good dupe for Orgasm yet how good a dupe is it.?

I'm actually really shocked at the result as when used apart I would state they are almost identical. So how do they compare?

NARS - Orgasm - Sleek - Rose gold - blusher - vs - camparison - dupe -review - swatch

Consistency -
The texture of Orgasm is much more finely milled and feels much smoother to the touch. Rose gold is quite rough yet it isn't at all chalky like you find with other cheaper blushers.

Colour -
Orgasm has much more of a pale pink base compared to the brighter almost coral shade of the rose gold. The shimmer is also much more pronounced in Sleeks Rose Gold yet in Orgasm the shimmer is a lot more subtle. However when blended they become more alike, with the shimmer being reduced in the rose gold and the coral becoming duller in colour.

Pigment -
The pigmentation in Rose Gold is amazing without doubt the most pigmented high-street blusher I have ever used. I'd say it is even more pigmented than Orgasm. Orgasm is a lot more of a buildable shade and takes a good few swipes to get a strong colour where as you need a really light hand when applying Rose Gold as its so pigmented.

Price -
A full size pan (4.8g) of Orgasm is £22.50
A full size pan (8g) of Rose Gold is £4.49

That's an amazing £18.01 difference. Sleeks is not only the cheapest but you get almost double the amount.

Overall -
I wouldn't say these two blushers where exactly the same but each has its plus points and are beautiful shades in their own right. When fully blended they are similar yet more like sisters than twins. You can see in the pictures below that Nars gives more of a rosy shade where as Sleek is just that bit darker and more of a peachy coral.

NARS - Orgasm - Sleek - Rose gold - blusher - vs - camparison - dupe -review - swatch

Do you own either these shades? Which do you prefer? Do you think Rose Gold can be called a dupe for Orgasm? Let me know all your thoughts below.

Upside down Diet Coke Glass

Drinking glass - Gifts - Review - upside down diet coke bottle - vase - home - lifestyle

This post is slightly different but I enjoy reading posts about things people have in their home! So I thought I'd share one of my fave little bits I have. So let me know if you'd like to see more of these posts!
I was given this diet coke glass the Christmas before last, by one of my best friends. I absolutely love it! It was the perfect gift for me as I love anything retro or unique for the home!

I was originally just using this glass as drinking glass for my normal diet coke. However it's not the most practical of glasses and I was always worried I would smash it. So mostly the glass got used to serve a snazzy cocktail to one of my mates. Everyone who sees it always comments on how much they like the glass and how funky it is.

Drinking glass - Gifts - Review - upside down diet coke bottle - vase - home - lifestyle

Yet a few weeks ago my beautiful mummy bought me some a little bunch of pink roses! All of my vases were too big and over powering for the sweet little posy. So I popped the flowers in this glass and  thought they looked really pretty. I'm so glad I did as I'm now going to use it as a cute vase for in the kitchen as it looks so kitsch and different!

Drinking glass - Gifts - Review - upside down diet coke bottle - vase - home - lifestyle

What do you think? would you use it as a vase? Do you like retro looking things? Which sort of unique gifts have you received? Would you like to see more of these sort of posts?

lots of love,

MAC Rihanna Viva Glam Lipglass

MAC - Rihanna -Viva Glam - Lipglass - lipgloss - review - Swatch - Riri

This lipgloss from MACs Rihanna viva glam range is described as a blue red lipstick and lipglass. which as I stated in the lipstick post which you can see here is really complimentary to most skin tones and makes teeth appear a lot whiter, than other shades of red.

The lipglass has a cool undertone and a more sheer than opaque frosted finish. I find MAC's lipglosses to be one of the most longwearing lipglosses. This one is not any different and offers the wearer a good length of wear. After 3 hours, your lips are still left with a light rosy pink tint. It took 4 hours to fully disappear from my lips.

MAC - Rihanna -Viva Glam - Lipglass - lipgloss - review - Swatch - Riri

I would describe the lipglass as a soft red with hints of red and pink glitter. In some respects its almost like a dark pink shade. The colour reminds me of a berry colour. It's an extremely pretty shade and perfect for adding a bit of glamour to your look.

MAC - Rihanna -Viva Glam - Lipglass - lipgloss - review - Swatch - Riri

Even though the lipgloss has a high density of glitter it doesn't have a gritty or bitty feel to it. However it is rather sticky but I think that is one of the reasons it lasts so well.
This lipglass is part of MAC's latest Viva glam collection where all the proceeds are going to help victims and families living with or affected with HIV and AIDS. You can purchase your own here directly from MAC.

MAC - Rihanna -Viva Glam - Lipglass - lipgloss - review - Swatch - Riri

Stay tuned for a post with swatches and pictures of the lipglass and lipstick used together. The look is stunning! Which brand of lipgloss do you like the most? Do you prefer lipstick or lipgloss? Let me know all your thoughts by commenting below.
