Bourjois Delice De Poudre Bronzing Powders Shade 51 Vs. Shade 52 - Review and Swatches

Bourjois - Delice De Poudre - Bronzing powders - Chocolate bronzers - shade 51 - shade 52 - comparison - vs - review - swatches

After lusting after Delice De Poudre for ages I finally gave in and treated myself. However I didn't realise that there was two different shades. So I decided to get them both, hoping I would love them both. I wasn't disappointed!

The powder comes in the shade 51 and 52. With 52 being noticeably darker in the pan than 51 which has a more yellowish undertone. Both have subtle glitter particles in them however the glitter seems to be denser in quantity in 52 than 51. However when applied the glitter is hardly visible at all.

Bourjois Says:
Its subtly iridescent formula enriched with flecks of golds gives a radiant but non shiny glow.
Its delicious chocolate perfume and ultra soft texture will make you melt with pleasure!
Delice de Poudre exists in 2 shades for 2 different results and applications:
- Gold bronzing powder sprinkled with rich clusters of sunshine for the cheekbones and the d├ęcolletage
- Bronzing powder for fair to medium skin for the face

Formula

The formula of both is beautiful and easy to use. They are both really silky to the touch and isn't at all powdery. The shades are really blendable and although not the most pigmented they are really buildable. So perfect for use on paler skins or those not used to bronzing.

- The lighter shade 51 did appear more pigmented when applied than 52.

- The darker 52 took more product to get a noticeable colour on my skin. Yet I am a big fake tan wearer so fairer people will notice the colour easier.

Saying that I love a bronzer and love the finish of them both. The fact that you can build them up means you never apply to much and this gives a much more natural finish.

Colour
Although both have a slight orange tone this doesn't transpire when applied. Neither give you an orange tango or a muddy dirty look!

-51 is the lighter of the two shades and has a slight yellow undertone. When applied gives a natural golden glow.
-52 is more of a deeper brown shade. It gives more of a olive toned bronze when applied.

I find that I much prefer using the lighter 51 as an all over bronzer and 52 for contouring. They are perfect for day to day use as the colours aren't too in your face. So give a natural sunkissed glow.

Overall I love these bronzers and would without doubt repurchase. I love the chocolate scent which smells delicious, yet isn't too overpowering its sickly. The packaging is also really pretty with the design replicating a chocolate box. Its very thin and not too bulky so fits nicely into a handbag for touch ups on the go. I have been using them both religiously since I purchased them. I got mine from Boots and think they are both definitely worth the £7.99 price tag.

Have you tried either of these? which do you like the look of more 51 or 52? Which bronzers do you use?

  12. I am so jealous! These bronzers look beautiful, but they retail for far more here in Canada! If my math is correct I think it's around 20 pounds, or 40 Canadian dollars :(
