Lilac drops necklace

Lilac drops - necklace - statement jewellery - statement necklace - teaseflutterpout - tfp - pastel jewellery - pastel necklace - review

A few months ago I was lucky enough to get sent a bunch of goodies from Gemma at BelloBoutique26 including this stunning Lilac drops necklace*. It really is a beautiful piece that will dress up any outfit.

With the pretty pastel shade of the stones, its a perfect match for one of the seasons biggest trends this season. Pastel colours have been all over the catwalk and are swiftly becoming an Autumn/Winter must have. I love how shades normally reserved for spring and summer are being teamed with the darker tones of the colder months. One of my favourite ways to wear the trend is by pairing pastel jewellery and accessories with neutrals.

The necklace has oval pastel lilac stones that are backed onto brass and surrounded with pretty light reflecting crystals. The necklace is truly stunning, it feels and looks really expensive. I really love how although big and on trend its not at all garish and has an air of class about it.

What do you think of this necklace? Will you be wearing the pastel trend this A/W? What would you wear this necklace with? Let me know all your thoughts by commenting below.

Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 - hour Dollface blush

Tarte - Amazonian Clay 12 hour blush - blusher - pink blusher - review - wearing product - swatch - dollface - cool toned blusher - blue toned blusher

As a blush addict I have been longing to get my hands on Tarte Amazonian clay blush. I spent ages trying to decide which shade to get and after reading millions of reviews I decided on Dollface. Dollface is a light cool blue toned pink. It looks quite bright in the pan but swatches as a cool yet natural looking pink. It is a beautiful light pink without looking at all clownish.

The blush in the pan quite hard, it will without doubt withstand a bit of a beating. It's great to have a blush you dont have to worry about it breaking. Although appearing tightly pressed, it's easy to pick up on a brush. Don't be deceived into thinking you need a lot of swirling of the brush to pick up any product as you really don't need much product due to its pigmentation. The pan will last you forever. I have been using this constantly and haven't even made a mark on it.

Even though its hard in the pan, it feels so soft on the skin. The texture is beautiful and feels like it almost melts into the skin, which makes it perfect for blending. I was really surprised at how it feels, hard yet it can feel so buttery on the skin. I'm guessing this is down to the added clay.

The packaging is gorgeous and comes in the shade of the blush inside which I think is a really cute idea. It also comes with a large mirror which I'm always thankful for.

I love a light pink blush but find they often fade quicker than most shades. So dollface is the perfect shade to try out Tarte's 12 hour claim. I wouldnt say its fade free but it does leave a long lasting colour almost tinting or staining the skin. It lasts 8 hours without fading but the stain lasts about 10 hours. Which although not the full 12 hours it still is really impressive.

I really think it will be flattering for all skintones, but especially on paler skins as it gives a pretty flushed look. It is really buildable so you can layer it up to make it work for you although on darker skin tones it will come across as a much subtler shade.

Have you tried any Tarte Products? Do you own any similar shades? What blush are you loving at the moment?

Ombre, Sombre or dipdye?

The Ombre look is still a firm favourite with the A list and is a hair trend that doesn't appear to be going anywhere soon. With three main variations of the look, from the subtle faded look of the sombre to the bold contrasting dipdye. Which style should you be asking for at the salon? Do you know your Ombre from your Sombre?

Ombre
What it means - A french term which means shaded.

What it is- A multi-tonal hair affect in which the ends are significantly lighter than the roots. The contrast from roots to end is stark yet the change should be gradual with slight blending. Balayage highlights can be added to help blend the shades.

The look - The aim of ombre to give a grown out sunkissed look.

Sombre
What it means - a subtle/soft version of ombre

What it is - A subtle graduation from a darker toned root to lighter ends. The difference is much less notciable than with ombre with the shades picked being less stark in difference. Bayalage highlights are often used to take the lighter and darker through the hair.

The look -  A natural subtle grown out sunkissed look.

Dipdye
What it means - A two toned or multi tonal effect where the top half of the hair is a totally different colour to the ends.

What it is - The top half of the hair can be left natural or coloured. the ends can be any shade as long as it's a different colour from the ends. There is no blending giving a stark contrast in hues.

The look - The look gives the impression the ends of the hair have been dipped into dye.

I hope this guide helped you understand the differences between the three different looks. I'd love to hear which you like best. Are you sporting any of the above trends? Who do you think pulled off each look best? Will you be changing your hair to any of these trends? Let me know all your thoughts by commenting below.
