Over the New Year Dave treated me to mini break to Bath. Being a bit of a history buff I have always wanted to go Bath due to its famous architecture and historic links to Roman Britain.
We decided to stay at Bailbrook House Hotel, which is part of the Handpicked Hotels chain. we have previously stayed in a few of their other hotels and have always been impressed with the beautiful buildings and their lovely staff, so it seemed the obvious choice.
As you come up the winding drive you see the impressive main building. The interior of the hotel is just as grand and was really well maintained. The staff were so friendly and greeted us straight away. It was clear they really wanted to make the stay as pleasurable as possible, giving us a quick tour before leading us to our room.
Bailbrook House Hotel in Bath, a country house hotel located just a few minutes from the centre of historic Bath. Bailbrook House is one of the only Grade II listed hotels in Bath, set within 20 acres of private grounds with commanding views towards central Bath and the adjoining countryside. The property was originally built as a private residence in the early 1790s and has had a number of uses over the years. In less than one year since re-opening Bailbrook House Hotel is now one of the leading hotels in Bath.
Our room was beautiful, We had a executive room in the new building next to the Mansion. The only issue I had was having to walk outside in the rain to the main building, when going to the bar or restaurants, but it is only a few metres. The room however was really spacious and luxurious. The room had everything you could need including a mini fridge with milk and bottled water, even an espresso machine. I can't imagine, how lovely the suites in the Mansion must be to stay in.
We spent our evenings relaxing at the hotel bar and restaurant, or chillaxing in our room, making the most of the room service. I don't recommend staying here if you aren't prepared to put on a bit of weight, honestly the food is so good, it's really hard to resist all the tasty treats.
We had an amazing time! I would definitely recommend staying at Bailbrook House Hotel. If you are looking for a romantic break. I loved spending time in the hotel, the atmosphere was really friendly which in such a grand hotel. I think it's really important to feel at home and at ease.
