End of Summer nail design

With summer coming to an end and the warm weather and sunny days disappearing. I thought I would make the most of the last few days of summer by giving myself a real summer themed nail look, before I start wearing plums and darker shades.

I picked one of the colours I have been wearing most this summer and that's orange. The shade I choose is the ultimate in summer colour, a neon shade from China glaze called flip flop fantasy (the name speaks for itself.) If a holiday could be bottled it would be this shade. Neons look amazing with a tan and as the sun disappears this is the perfect shade to pair with any colour you have, or with your fake tan if you're like me.

Full Cover Nails, Active Length Square - Nailene £8.49

Flip Flop fantasy - China Glaze £5.75

White Nail art pen - Barry M £4.99

Striping Tape - Ebay 99p

Clear Diamantes - Ebay 99p

Good to go Top Coat- Essie £8.99

When I'm doing nail art, I found the easiest way to get a professional finish is to use fake nails. I can paint and decorate them before glueing them on, So both hands look as good as each other. I like to use Nailene Full cover nails in Active Length Square.

Summer - nail art - nail design - gems - striping tape - triangles - orange - bright - neon - coral - white - nail inspiration - at home nails - stick on nails - flip flop fantasy - china glaze - review

  • I measure up the nails to make sure they fit my own and set them in the order of my nails.
  • I then painted all the nails in Flip Flop Fantasy. Once dry I gave them a second coat.
  • Using a nail art pen a drew on a white triangle with on each both thumbs and then filled them in.
  • With sliver glitter nail tape I then used the point of my triangle as a guide and after leaving a gap of a bout half a centimetre from the white triangle. I created a upside down V shape.
  • I also added two small strips of tape along the top of both the nails I'm using for my ring fingers.
  • I then prep my own natural nails by cutting them short, filing the edges down and roughing up the top layer of the nail with the buffer you get with the set of nails.
  • I then add a dab of glue on each of my nails and firmly push and hold down the nails for a few seconds.
  • To finish off I then popped a tiny crystal diamante at the base of the triangle. Then to bring the the whole look together I added a diamante to the base of every nail.
  • To seal the nails I then pop a coat of Essie Top coat.
And I'm done!

I think this is a fab and fun look perfect to round off my summer with. I will definitely be creating this look or something very similar next summer. Until then I will have to come up with some designs to see me through to next year.

What nail colours have you been wearing this summer? What do you think of my summer nail design? Have you either tried at home false nails? Let me know all your thoughts by commenting below.

Lush rub rub rub

Rub Rub Rub - Body scrub - shower scrub - Lush - Body products - review - swatch - exfoliator - Lush oxford street - sea salt scrub - hair scrub

As a massive fake tan wearer one of things I have found out the hard way(through many a streaky leg and patchy tan) is how important it is to prep your skin. I have mentioned the importance of skin preparation in both my posts top fake tan tips and how to get the best suntan.

Yet whether you fake tan, sunbathe or stay out of the sun completely exfoliating your skin is still something your skin can really benefit from. Removing the layer of dead skin cells and improving circulation it leaves your skin softer and smoother. I have become an avid exfoliator and it is now a set part of my pamper routine.

Rub Rub Rub - Body scrub - shower scrub - Lush - Body products - review - swatch - exfoliator - Lush oxford street - sea salt scrub - hair scrub

I have been searching high and low for my holy grail body scrub. On a recent trip to Lush, After having a good old natter with a member of staff, she pointed me in the direction of rub rub rub. I had a try in store and I was hooked. The bright ocean blue formula is filled with sea salt and has a refreshing slightly floral scent.

An exfoliating shower scrub that can also be used to wash, volumise and add shine to hair. Packed with mineral-rich sea salt, Rub Rub Rub can be used as a gentle scrub on wet skin, or on dry skin for a really good buff before you get in the shower. Sea salt, a natural antiseptic as well as exfoliant, is combined with lots of lemon juice to leave your skin feeling rejuvenated and it also adds shine and volume to hair.

When applying to my skin it felt like I was really getting rid of the dead skin cells without being too abrasive or harsh on the skin. It washed off easily even giving a tiny bit of lather adding to the feeling of getting a really deep down clean. Once you wash rub rub rub off is when you experience the real magic. Your skin feels coated almost moisturised as well as exfoliated.

I haven't used it on my hair as I don't want to strip any of my silver colour but I heard amazing things about the amount of body it gives your barnet. So if you want to add volume to your hair this may well be worth a shot.

I cannot express how impressed with this scrub I am. It leaves your skin like silk and like you have already applied your body lotion. I'm so glad I picked this up.

Natural Eyes Palette

I've had my eye on this palette since I first saw it a good few years ago. Although I'm so glad I waited as they did away with the old cardboard packaging last year and replaced it with a tin version. The tin version is so much more practical both for protecting the eyeshadows and to wipe down when it gets a bit grubby.

I got this awhile back now and find myself reaching for it more and more. The magnet fastening tin comes with a pink printed lace design with gold detailing. It looks extremely feminine and pretty, I'm a massive fan of the too faced packaging they always get it right in my opinion. The tin is really hardy and can take a bit of a battering which is great if you want to take the palette with you on your travels.

You also get a mirror which is hidden behind a pamphlet which gives a detailed guide on how to create three different looks using the shadows. The shadows are placed in the pan in order of the looks and in rows of which shadows you use in each look. I don't often stick to these looks as I love to play about with the colours. They are however a fab addition to the palette and each of the given looks are beautiful.

Heaven - A off white cream shade matte colour.

Cashmere bunny - A warm toned medium brown with a matte finish.

Sexspresso - A dark warm to neutral toned brown matte shade.

Silk teddy - A soft pinky champagne with a golden shimmer finish.

Push up - A rose gold with a bronze toned shimmer.

Erotica - A matte neutral toned dark brown with light gold glitter.

Nudie - A warm toned light brown with a matte finish.

Honey Pot - A soft metallic gold with a strong shimmer.

Chocolate Martini - A matte deep warm toned brown with a bright gold glitter.

All the shades have great colour pay off and are really blendable. Sexpresso is the hardest to work with but not to the degree I wouldn't use it. It's just slightly chalkier than the other shades in the palette which are quite creamy in consistency. The glitter shades have can have a bit of fall out but that's to be expected with glitter particles.

Too Faced - Natural Eyes - New Version - Swatches - Review - matte shades - natural shades - glitter shades - eyeshadow - make up

Unlike a lot of palettes, where I find myself loving a few shades more than the rest and end up with some barely touched shades. I adore all the shades in this and my main issue is which shades to use today. If you are a massive natural and smokey eye fan this is one palette you need to check out.

Have you tried the natural eyes palette? What do you think of Too Faced products? What is your fave natural eyeshadow palette? Let me know all your thoughts by commenting below.

Hervana Blush

Hervana - pink blusher - Benefit - natural blush - cool toned - review - swatch - boxed blusher - compact - multi shade

If your looking for a natural pink toned blush look no further. Hervana Blush boxed blush from Benefit is described as an soft orchid - blossom flush. It is a mixture of 4 different pink toned shades that appear in a swirled effect in the pan. The colours are too small to be used individually and look best all used together.

It comes in a beautiful purple box with magnet closing mechanism. It also has a handy mirror and small angled brush. The blush has a slightly perfumed floral scent but nothing too overpowering.

Hervana - pink blusher - Benefit - natural blush - cool toned - review - swatch - boxed blusher - compact - multi shade

The four shades that make Hervana Blush are -

Lucky Shell - a pale beige pink with satin shimmer.

Divine Peach - a warm apricot toned shade with a golden sheen.

Heavenly Rose - a rosy pink with a slight shimmer.

Berry Delight - a blue toned purply pink with a satin sheen.

All together they create a gorgeous slightly warm toned pink with a subtle shimmer.

Hervana - pink blusher - Benefit - natural blush - cool toned - review - swatch - boxed blusher - compact - multi shade

The softness of the blush means that it isn't highly pigmented but instead gives an inner glow look. The shimmer isn't at all over the top and makes the skin look healthy rather than over done. Although not striking in colour the blush really does give a flattering colour to the skin and lasts a good 8 hours before fading.

I love this for a barely there natural looking cheek, It can also be built up for a stronger flushed look. It's the perfect blush shade for fairer skin tones but will still give a pretty glow on medium skin tones like mine. If your not really into blushes but looking to try them out this is the blush I would recommend.

Zoella Beauty tutti fruity - Candy Cream

Zoella - Zoella Beauty - softening Body Lotion - candy cream - review - swatch - body cream - superdrug - body skincare - Tutti Fruity

When popping into my local super drug the other week for a quick browse, I remembered I needed to pick up a new body lotion. So I thought I'd try Zoella's new candy cream body lotion from her latest tutti fruity range. I tried the fresh fizz bar from the range and loved the fresh refreshing scent, I was intrigued as to whether I'd enjoy this as much.

The lotion comes in a squeezable 160ml bottle and is priced at £5.00 which isn't that cheap but not overly expensive. Especially as all zoellas products are best sellers, so they could have charged a lot more. The bottle is transparent so you can see how much product you have left. It also has a cute pale yellow polka dots and pink lace design.

Zoella - Zoella Beauty - softening Body Lotion - candy cream - review - swatch - body cream - superdrug - body skincare - Tutti Fruity

The scent to this is much more fruity than the bath fizz. which was wasn't that fruity especially for a product from the tutti fruity range. The bath fizz, had more of a fresh, floral scent. The stronger fruity undertones may come from the blueberry which is in the lotion. The scent is really pretty and more of what I expected the range to smell like.

Zoella Beauty Tutti Fruity Candy Cream Softening Body Lotion is packed with bursting beads and extracts of Acai and Blueberry to pamper and protect, because your skin needs a bit of love too!

The lotion comes with pink little beads in which are said to burst on the skin. When rubbing in the lotion the beads melt into the rest of the formula leaving a trail of pink tint as is blends. You don't end up with pink skin as it absorbs like the rest of lotion. I'm not sure the beads add any extra moisture or do more than just add to its aesthetic appeal.

The formula is not too thick or oily but leaves your skin really soft and moisturised the scent does linger on your skin for a few hours, A lot of body lotion scents fade really quick yet this doesn't which is a massive plus for me. It absorbs really quickly, it leaves your skin feeling cool and refreshed.

Zoella - Zoella Beauty - softening Body Lotion - candy cream - review - swatch - body cream - superdrug - body skincare - Tutti Fruity

Its a really nice formula and my skin did feel a lot softer after using it. I will definitely use it up and think its fab for the warmer weather when a body butter can leave you feeling a bit greasy. I'm not sure I would repurchase as you can get similar moisturising levels from cheaper products. Yet if you love body lotions and fruity summer scents this is definitely one to try out. You can get the Zoella Beauty Range from Superdrug here.

Have you tried any of the Zoella tutti fruity range? Do you prefer body lotions to body butters? What body products are you loving at the moment?

I was really excited to see this in my box as I love French pharmacy skincare. I have tried other Nuxe products in the past and really enjoyed them. My skin is quite dry so this 24 hour soothing and rehydrating fresh mask sounds perfect for me and with its mix of plant milks and white flowers it sounds like a real treat.

This hydrating, melting cream with Plant Milks and White Blossom provides ultra-quenching and long-lasting hydration for 24 hours; it reinforces the skin's natural water reserves and maintains the optimum level of water in your skin. I love a lipstick so was more than happy to see this in my box. It's a gorgeously vibrant red - orange, It's really opaque and although has a matte finish it's lightweight and non drying due to its added vitamins and green tea.

Bold colors heralding ambition and prosperity collide in this sophisticated sunburst stain named for China’s ancient seat of power. Bright red-orange like the imperial palace walls, Imperial City Silk Matte beckons to the Empress within.

Huile prodigieuse - Nuxe

Shimmer powder in Diligence - Bellapierre Cosmetics

This loose powder is a gorgeous shimmery dark warm brown/ bronze shade with golden glitter. It is super pigmented so a little goes a long way so this will last a long time. Bellapierre is a brand I have seen around in department stores etc yet never tried, I'm so glad this was in my box as the formula and shade are beautiful.

Esqido lashes - Unforgettable

Esqido - mink eyelashes - fake eyelashes - false eyelashes - review - lashes - reusable lashes - strip lashes - cruelty free eyelashes - Unforgettable style

If you read my blog regularly you'll know I'm a massive fan of false eyelashes. I never feel completely made up with out them. They add a hint of glamour to even the most natural of make up looks and I adore how they open up your eyes.

I know a lot of people worry they will look over done or like a drag queen with false lashes yet now days there are styles to suit everyone. ESQIDO false eyelashes are swiftly becoming a fave among fake eyelash lovers due to the range and for the high quality of the lashes. I was super excited to give them a go especially as I know they are some of Gemma's from Miss Makeup Magpies favourite lashes. As well as loved by the make up artist Jaclyn Hill  They only use professional grade mink hair collected as the minks naturally shed, so not only are the lashes extremely soft they are totally cruelty free! If cared for properly they can be used up to 25 times, which is fabulous.

Esqido - mink eyelashes - fake eyelashes - false eyelashes - review - lashes - reusable lashes - strip lashes - cruelty free eyelashes - Unforgettable style

Esqido false lashes all come in beautiful white leathery feeling boxes with rose gold detailing. The packaging is stunning and the magnetic box makes storing your lashes between uses a breeze especially on the go, With cheaper boxes I have popped my already used lashes in only to find one has disappeared, yet with these boxes there will be no great escapes lol.

This pair of lashes are called unforgettable and are perfect for a more natural look with the thickening of the lashes at the outer corner adding a feminine lift to your eyes.

Natural and elegant. This pair of mink lashes features a gradient of increasing length and thickness across the lash band, resulting in a subtle yet beautiful winged out effect.

The thinness of the handcrafted cotton band means it's virtually impossible to see you are wearing lashes. Plus the fact the band is made of cotton means they are really so comfortable you can wear them all day.

I tend to go for bigger lashes with more volume rather than these pretty dainty ones. but if you're looking to add length and slight fullness to your own lashes then these are the lashes for you. They are incredibly beautiful and the perfect natural looking lash. These are becoming my go to day to day lashes when I want a subtle yet glamorous feel to my look. I can't wait to have a try of the other lashes in the range. To get your own pair of ESQIDO false Lashes check out https://esqido.com/

Tom Ford Lipstick - Vanilia Suede

Tom Ford - Lipstick - Vanilla suede - frost finish - Nude colour - original line - Review - swatch - TF - luxury make up - highend lipstick

I'm a big fan of smokey eyes and a nude lip. So when looking to invest in my first ever Tom Ford Lipstick I automatically looked towards the nuder shades. After much deliberation I decide the first of my lippies (and probably not my last) would be Vanilla suede. It was one of the original Tom Ford lipstick collection so I thought it would be a good place to start me off. This is without doubt the lightest and palest lip colours I own.

The packaging is so luxurious, A heavy weighted black with gold rimmed casing, covers the beautiful nude toned lipstick embossed with a big TF.

The colour itself is a creamy pale peach nude with a golden shimmer. Although it may look like a shade that would wash you out, once on it is extremely pretty, it shows up differently on everyone depending on the colour of your natural lip colour. However I love the natural yet shimmering golden cream colour, which adds another dimension to your lips stopping them disappearing like with many really pale nudes.

The formula almost melts into your lips and lasts about 4 hours in total. The finish is slightly frosty so if your not a fan of frosty lipsticks this may not be for you. At £38.00 though this lipstick has a rather hefty price and although the shade is really pretty. I'm sure you could find a similar shade a lot cheaper.

Tom Ford - Lipstick - Vanilla suede - frost finish - Nude colour - original line - Review - swatch - TF - luxury make up - highend lipstick

For me it's the perfect light nude without being too opaque that it looks ghostly. It looks amazing with a dramatic eye or for an everyday look. I also love to use it over the top of some of my matte lipsticks to create a hint of shimmer. So if you are looking to invest in a Tom Ford lipstick I'd recommend going for a shade that you will wear again and again, as it's a lot to pay for one lipstick.

Tom Ford - Lipstick - Vanilla suede - frost finish - Nude colour - original line - Review - swatch - TF - luxury make up - highend lipstick

All in all I really like the shade and the formula yet considering the price I wasn't blown away. It's a good lipstick but I could get 5 similar lipsticks for the cost of one, you are without doubt paying for the name and packaging.

Have you tried any Tom Ford products? What Tom Ford Lipstick shade do you like best? Do you on any similar shades? Let me know all your thoughts by commenting below.

Lots of Love,
