Clarisonic Smart Profile - First Impressions

Clarisonic - Smart Profile - review - first impressions - skincare - facial brush - body brush - Gadget

Today's post is slightly different from normal. I don't normal do posts on products I haven't been trying for at least a month or so. Yet I couldn't wait to share my thoughts on my latest beauty gadget. I was lucky enough to get sent the latest Clarisonic device two weeks ago from the lovely team at Debenhams and I have been obsessed with it since.

It's called the Smart Profile face and body brush. This brush comes with two separate heads one for your body and the other for your face. So perfect for head to toe cleansing and you are getting two brushes in one.

Up first is the facial brush. I have been using the facial brush every night since I received it and I'm blown away. I noticed results straight away, My skin was softer and smoother. The sonic technology means it vibrates at super high speeds in a distinct motion unique to Clarisonic which is gentler than the normal spinning brushes of other brands. It also lowers the risk of skin irritation. The brush itself is really soft and makes cleaning your face and removing make up a breeze. already after just a few weeks I've noticed my skin looks clearer and brighter.

The body brush is larger and the bristles harder than the facial brush, which enables longer more intense cleansing ,as well as a massage feature. It's perfect for getting a good deep clean, it buffs away all your dead skin and is great for using before you tan as your skin is left so smooth. The body scrub that comes in the box smells amazing. I rub it all over before going in with the brush.

I'm genuinely so impressed and will be posting a full review in a few weeks. You can get your own Clarisonic from Debenhams.

Have you tried any of the Clarisonic brushes? What do you think about facial brushes? Let me know all your thoughts by commenting below.

Panasonic IPL Hair Removal System

Panasonic - IPL Hair Removal System - At home treatment - Gadget - Panasonic beauty - Beauty - IPL system - Review - Cordless - ES WH80

I'm not ashamed to admit I'm rather hairy! I can shave my legs and the next day they feel like sandpaper. I've tried waxing and that didn't make much difference. I would b shaving again after a few days. So when I was asked to try Panasonics new IPL hair removal system*, I was rather sceptical as to whether it would make much of a difference.

IPL stands for Intense Pulsed Light, it works by emitting wavelengths into the skin that targets the pigment in the hair, hence why it's less effective on lighter hair colours. When the light is absorbed by the hair it turns into heat inhibiting growth. So with repeated use you will be left with long lasting smooth skin.

The IPL comes with a charger so once fully charged, it's completely cordless, making use so much easier, no getting yourself tangled up in wires.  It's pearlescent white and sleek looking. The lid that covers the light panel is a gorgeous purple shade. It is a really stylish looking gadget. It's easy to grip and although lightweight it doesn't feel at all flimsy.

I was also a bit apprehensive giving it a go the first time as I once tried a friends one years ago when IPL's were brand new and even on the lowest setting it hurt!! I felt like I'd been stung by a bee. So I was really surprised that I didn't experience any pain using it. Your skin gets warm and it's more of an annoying feeling than painful. The feeling is more intense as the intensity levels increase yet even then I wouldn't say it's unbearable more uncomfortable but my goodness the results were worth it!

Panasonic - IPL Hair Removal System - At home treatment - Gadget - Panasonic beauty - Beauty - IPL system - Review - Cordless - ES WH80

So what makes the ES- WH80 different from others?
With it's easy grip, ergonomic design and lightweight body the Panasonic IPL hair removal system makes it easy to treat even hard to reach areas. It's larger 5.4cm flash window increases the area covered with each flash. With 600 flashes per charge, you can take the system with you and not have to worry about running out of charge. The 5 different intensity levels means you can work up to a setting that's right for you.

I found using it incredible easy as well. First you shave the area you want to start the treatment on. Once skin is dry apply the IPL at a right angle on the skin. The light will flash then you slide the IPL along to the next area! It couldn't be simpler. I have been using this once a week and have only gone up to level 2 although I have tried out the highest setting to get an idea of the intensity.

After the first few weeks I started to notice my leg hair was much more patchy. Some parts were almost hairless. The hair grows back sparser and feels much finer to touch. A month or so in and I had gone from shaving every other day to once a week! I am definitely going to continue using this and hopefully the results will continue to amaze.

Panasonic - IPL Hair Removal System - At home treatment - Gadget - Panasonic beauty - Beauty - IPL system - Review - Cordless - ES WH80

The system cost around the £300 mark and although expensive it's one of the less expensive IPL at home systems. Panasonic is also renowned for its high quality products and it's a market leader in technology so you know you're getting your moneys worth. This system can't be used on the face but can be used on the legs, arms, underarms and bikini line. So if you consider how much getting waxed etc costs or laser hair removal it isn't that expensive.

I'm so impressed with this and can't wait to see how it works on other areas. I would really recommend this to anyone looking for more permanent hair removal without any fuss. Have you tried a IPL? What methods do you use to defuzz? Let me know all your thoughts by commenting below.

Natural Spa Factory - Champagne Bathing Nectar

At Home Spa - Bath products - Champagne bathing nectar - Beauty - body products - body skincare - Fragranaced bath product - Natural Spa Factory

If you read my blog on a regular basis you will know I'm all for a pamper session. A week rarely goes by without me having an at home pamper evening. I'll indulge myself in a good old soak in the bath by candlelight with some of my favourite tunes playing. So when a bundle of gorgeous products from the Natural Spa Factory arrived at my door. I was over joyed at the prospect of trying all the goodies especially the Champagne bathing nectar.

The nectar is housed in a clear glass bottle, with a sleek black writing across it and a matching black lid. The clear bottle allows you to see the stunning shimmering golden nectar. It looks extremely high end and will look gorgeous sat next to your bath.

I poured a small amount under warm running water. The nectar takes a few minutes to dissolve but the soft amber fragrance is released almost immediately. The scent is absolutely beautiful and although very subtle it smells like a high end perfume. Although not the cheapest bath product at £25 a little goes along way, only a little is needed to transform your bathroom into a spa retreat.

Natural Spa Factory - Champagne Bathing Nectar - Spa products - Bath products - skincare - fragranced bath product - at home spa - luxury bath product - Review

You wont get any bubbles from the nectar but they really aren't needed. Once dissolved the water is left with a silk like texture  and I could easily have spent the whole evening laying in the soft water. My skin felt so smooth and looked like it was almost glowing after the bath.

Natural Spa Factory Say:
As part of our healthy ageing regime (we hate the term anti-ageing), our liquid gold bathing nectar is infused with decadent Champagne extract and is high in AHA’s that help renew skin. Active polyphenols with protective properties are partnered with a rich and soothing amber aroma, this is pure indulgence for the ultimate bathing experience.

Caviar extract is very rich in vitamins A, D, B, trace elements as well as amino acids. Those ingredients intensify the metabolism of the skin cells.

Different studies show that pearl extracts contain actives which have efficient effects on skin: they stimulate the production of specific growth factors which activate the skin functions. Skin can get its tone, elasticity and brightness back.

Our paraben free Gold Range answers the demand for high quality, luxury spa treatments for home use. Combining the perfect combination of champagne, pearl or caviar extract, gold shine and skin loving ingredients.

During my years of bath pampering I have tried many a bath product yet this is without doubt one of the most extravagant and luxurious products I have ever tried. I literally felt like royalty floating in my steaming beautiful scented bath. If you are looking for a real treat and to spoil yourself like the goddess you are, or to spoil a loved one,  I would without doubt recommend this. You can get this and lots of other exclusive Spa products from the Natural Spa Factory.

Another month another batch of goodies from Love Me Beauty. If you haven't heard of Love Me beauty they offer a new twist on the conventional beauty boxes. The idea is that the money you pay each month gets transferred into points which you can spend on the actual products you want to receive in your box, rather than a box filled with things you'll never use.

So without further ado, lets take a peek at what I got this month.

Monuspa - Rosewood Reviving Mist

This invigorating combination will leave skin feeling deliciously cool and refreshed whilst providing an irresistible fragrance to tantalise the senses.

Ciate Mini Nail Lacquer - Pepperminty

I have been longing to own this shade for years now! I'm a massive fan of Ciate nail polishes as they have a gorgeous range of colours and are really long wearing. This gorgeous minty shade is now a cult classic, I'm so glad to add this to my collection.

Tingly fresh minty shade is a true ‘It’ colour and a must for anytime of year. Pair with a pastel frock for serious girly chic or pair with a leather biker to give a tough look a feminine twist.

Lord & Berry - Twistick Arizona

Love Me Beauty - beauty box - Review - swatches - Beauty - Make up - skincare - Lottie London - Nail polish - bring me joy - Ciate - pepperminty - Lord & Berry - Twistick - Monuspa - reviving mist - eyelash curlers

Lord & Berry is a brand I have seen around yet never got round to trying. So I was glad to finally get a chance to give one of the products a try. This is so moisturising it really does feel like a lipbalm with a glossy finish. Yet it still gives a brilliant wash off colour. The shade I got is Arizona which is an extremely pretty and really wearable Red coral shade.

Twistick combines the benefits of a pampering lip balm, a full colour lipstick and a super shiny gloss for a three in one, modern and contemporary lip product accessory. Lottie London Lottie Lacquer - Bring Me Joy

Love Me Beauty - beauty box - Review - swatches - Beauty - Make up - skincare - Lottie London - Nail polish - bring me joy - Ciate - pepperminty - Lord & Berry - Twistick - Monuspa - reviving mist - eyelash curlers

Lottie London is a relatively new brand yet has gained a lot of hardcore fans already! I have had a try of these nail polishes but didn't actually own any. So this is fab as now I can really give them a try. Owned by Ciate it's no surpise they stock an amazing array of colours. This a light barely there pink is just up my street.

Bringing nothing but joy, simply sheer nude pink delight. Layer two coats for an opaque finish.

Love Me Beauty - Eyelash Curlers

Love Me Beauty - beauty box - Review - swatches - Beauty - Make up - skincare - Lottie London - Nail polish - bring me joy - Ciate - pepperminty - Lord & Berry - Twistick - Monuspa - reviving mist - eyelash curlers

I always give my eyelashes a quick curl before applying my mascara, so these Eyelash curlers are a fab addition. You can never have too many in my opinion. These are super lightweight making them perfect for your travel make up bag. They open and close really smoothly with little pressure needed to give a really gorgeous curl.

Fave Fall Nail Shades 2015

It's officially that time of year when the summer brights are pushed to the back of your nail varnish collection and the autumn classics that have been gathering dust are getting some much needed love. So if you fancy updating your nail varnishes or deciding which colours to repurchase. I thought I would help out by sharing some of my top shades for autumn months.

Top picks - Best Shades for Autumn - 2015 - Fall - Nail varnish - Nail polish - nail lacquer - Nail colour trends - Autumn - Winter - Barry M - Essie - Ciate - Rimmel - Bourjois - Nails Inc - Lottie London - Orly - Revlon - MUA - Makeup Revolution - Collection

Barry M Gelly Nail Paint - Plum £3.99
I can't go through autumn without a plum shade gracing my nails. This pretty dark plum colour from Barry M is my new go to. I'm a massive fan of the gelly formulas and love the high gloss finish.

Essie Nail Lacquer - Angora Cardi £7.99
Described as a deep creamy dusty rose. This colour is gorgeous with deeper purple rose tones, it's a great way to keep girly nails in the dull weather.

Ciate Nail polish - Dangerous Affair £9.00
No autumn nail polish collection is complete with out a deep classic burgundy. This shade from Ciate speaks for itself! Perfection - enough said.

Rimmel 60 Second Nail polish - Darling You're Fab £2.99
Champagne and metallic nails were all over the catwalk for Autumn/Winter. This shade from Rimmel ticks all the boxes with a blend of light champagne and golden metallic shimmer.

Bourjois So Laque Glossy Nail Enamel- Taupe Modele £5.99
A taupe shade looks flattering on nails of any length.  The high gloss finish brings this classic shade up to date.

Nails Inc Nail polish - The Thames £11.00
A beautiful cool toned grey this is fab for everyday nails and perfect for those who aren't a fan of really dark shades but want to stay on trend.

Lottie London Lottie Lacquer - Spoil, Sport, Dark Blue £5.99
A gorgeous inky blue which is so dark its almost black is a shade I love, Much more flattering than black. It's looks fantastic with an evening look and the nail art possibilities are endless.

Orly Color Blast - Nude Creme £9.50
An off creamy nude is much more flattering than the summers bright white trend and gives your nails and instant boost especially when teaming with darker clothes. If in doubt I always go with a nude shade.

Revlon Colorstay Nail Enamel - Jungle £7.99
Another standout shade this season is dark forest green. A lovely new take on the darker nail trend that comes back round every Autumn. I'm without doubt going to be wearing this shade.

MUA Nail Polish - Mud Pie £1.00
Cappuccino and chocolate shades look gorgeous against the camel hues that are everywhere this year. This gorgeous mid brown from MUA is a bargain at a pound so definitely worth a try.

Makeup Revolution Nail Polish - Absolutely Flawless £1.00
Bronze colours are big news in the nail world. This gorgeous bronze toned metallic is only a pound!! What's not to love?

Collection - Red Hot £3.19
There is nothing like a set of freshly painted red nails! A sure fire way to make you feel instantly more glamorous. This true red shade is from Collection and has a long lasting gel finish.

I love wearing darker tones on my nails, when Autumn comes. It makes such a change from the pastels and brights of the summer months. The Balm - Nude Dude

the Balm - Nude Dude - Review - Swatches - Eyeshadow palette - neutral eyeshadows - Matte - shimmer - metallic

As a massive nude and neutral eye shadow fan it was only a matter of time before I found myself getting the second Nude palette Nude Dude. I loved the first edition Nude 'tude so I had high hopes for the brother palette.

the Balm - Nude Dude - Review - Swatches - Eyeshadow palette - neutral eyeshadows - Matte - shimmer - metallic

It comes housed in a sleek yet sturdy cardboard box with a hidden magnetic fastening. You get 12 eye shadows in a variety of shades, a rather large mirror and a little double ended brush. One end being a surprisingly good eyeliner brush and a decently packed eye shadow brush. Like the original palette it has an instantly recognisable pin up style. Yet instead of the beautiful pin up girls this palette has a group of buff men guarding your eye shadows.

the Balm - Nude Dude - Review - Swatches - Eyeshadow palette - neutral eyeshadows - Matte - shimmer - metallic

This palette I feel offers a much wider variety shade wise and is easily my fave of the two. Nude tude shades being colours I reach for ,for more natural day time look. Where as nude dudes shades are much more playful and great for a smokey or dramatic look.

the Balm - Nude Dude - Review - Swatches - Eyeshadow palette - neutral eyeshadows - Matte - shimmer - metallic

Fearless - a pale cream matte

Flawless - a neutral matte taupe shade

Firm - A metallic warm medium bronze.

Flirty - A metallic lilac with a strong gold sheen.

Friendly - A dark purple brown in a matte finish.

Fierce - A dark matte grey with gold glitter particles.

the Balm - Nude Dude - Review - Swatches - Eyeshadow palette - neutral eyeshadows - Matte - shimmer - metallic

Fabulous - A white shade with a strong golden sheen.

Faithful - A light metallic coppery gold.

Fit - A bright metallic copper.

Feisty - A light mauve/brown matte.

Funny - A dark shimmery reddy/brown.

Fine - A deep shimmery chocolate brown.

The texture of the shadows at first appears a bit chalky yet they blend really easily and only the darker glittery shades have any significant fall out. Most shades are really pigmented although you may need a few more swipes of the matte shades to get any real colour pay off.

I love the shades in this palette as well as the fun tongue in cheek packaging! I know I'm going to be using this palette regularly as the shades are really unique and not your typical neutral range of shades.

Have you tried either of the Balm's Nude palettes? Which of the shades do you like best? What are the colours you would wear the most? Let me know all your thoughts by commenting below.

Lots of Love,
Laura x
