The Balm - Nude Dude

the Balm - Nude Dude - Review - Swatches - Eyeshadow palette - neutral eyeshadows - Matte - shimmer - metallic

As a massive nude and neutral eye shadow fan it was only a matter of time before I found myself getting the second Nude palette Nude Dude. I loved the first edition Nude 'tude so I had high hopes for the brother palette.

It comes housed in a sleek yet sturdy cardboard box with a hidden magnetic fastening. You get 12 eye shadows in a variety of shades, a rather large mirror and a little double ended brush. One end being a surprisingly good eyeliner brush and a decently packed eye shadow brush. Like the original palette it has an instantly recognisable pin up style. Yet instead of the beautiful pin up girls this palette has a group of buff men guarding your eye shadows.

This palette I feel offers a much wider variety shade wise and is easily my fave of the two. Nude tude shades being colours I reach for ,for more natural day time look. Where as nude dudes shades are much more playful and great for a smokey or dramatic look.

Fearless - a pale cream matte

Flawless - a neutral matte taupe shade

Firm - A metallic warm medium bronze.

Flirty - A metallic lilac with a strong gold sheen.

Friendly - A dark purple brown in a matte finish.

Fierce - A dark matte grey with gold glitter particles.

Fabulous - A white shade with a strong golden sheen.

Faithful - A light metallic coppery gold.

Fit - A bright metallic copper.

Feisty - A light mauve/brown matte.

Funny - A dark shimmery reddy/brown.

Fine - A deep shimmery chocolate brown.

The texture of the shadows at first appears a bit chalky yet they blend really easily and only the darker glittery shades have any significant fall out. Most shades are really pigmented although you may need a few more swipes of the matte shades to get any real colour pay off.

I love the shades in this palette as well as the fun tongue in cheek packaging! I know I'm going to be using this palette regularly as the shades are really unique and not your typical neutral range of shades.

Have you tried either of the Balm's Nude palettes? Which of the shades do you like best? What are the colours you would wear the most? Let me know all your thoughts by commenting below.

Lots of Love,
Laura x
