Lush Milky Bath

Milky bath - bubble bar - review - Lush cosmetics - Lush - bath products - pamper products - review

It was only a matter of time before I tried out the Milky Bath Bubble Bar.not because I am slowly working my way through every bath product Lush produces, but because who doesn't want to bathe like a queen! I remember being little and hearing that Cleopatra bathed in milk and was obsessed with the idea lol, so much so my mum bought me a milk infused bath set for Christmas. which I was majorly impressed with and would lay in the bath for ages turning all wrinkly imagining I was Cleopatra (I was a weird child) So obviously I was going to pick this out as it reminded me of my youthful royal bath times!

If you love bubbles this is the bubble bar for you. I used half the bar per bath and was amazed at the sheer abundance of bubbles created. The water takes on a slight milky tone with a slight silver lustre and a ton of white bubbles. Not only do you get lots of bubbles ,they really last so its fab if you enjoy a long royal soak!

Don't cry over spilled milk - bathe in it! This comforting little milk bottle bubble bar is filled with uplifting orange oil and skimmed milk to treat your skin to a dose of happiness. A cocoa butter bottle top adds a little bit of extra softness. Simply crumble under running water, for a super bubbly treat of a bath.

The scent really is gorgeous, it gives off a really soft fresh and clean scent, that reminds me of freshly washed clothes or baby products. There is a hint of sweet creaminess to the scent as well which I really enjoy. If you get a bit overwhelmed by the Lush scents this is a great one to try as it is a really gentle scent. The aroma lingers on your skin for a good few hours even though its one of the softest lush scents available.

My favourite thing about this bubble bar is how soft my skin felt after. It's without doubt the most moisturising bubble bar I have ever used ,my skin felt so silky and smooth to touch, which I adore as my skin often gets really dry especially in the winter months.

Overall I will without doubt be purchasing this again, I bet Cleopatra would be jealous and wishing her milk baths smelt as good as this. If you fancy giving the milky bath a go you can get it from the Lush site or in your local store.

Too Faced Boudoir palette

Boudoir eyes -Too Faced - Boudoir eyeshadow palette - Satin eyeshadow - Matte eyeshadow - Glitter eyeshadow - swatch - review

Over the years I have become a bigger and bigger Too Faced make up fan, so it was only a matter of time before I bought myself another of their palettes. I picked the Boudoir palette as my next addition. Filled with soft and smouldering shades it's just up my street.

This boudoir palette is much like the other 9 eye shadow palettes available. You get a sturdy magnet closing tin case, complete with a gorgeous girlie design. The shades are divided into three separate eye looks, which you are shown how to complete in a Too Faced signature Glamour guide. The glamour guide itself folds up into a neat rectangle so you can keep it discreetly in the tin.  I love creating my own looks with the shades and find they all work well together and complement each other.

Birthday Suit - A nude beige with a shimmer finish
Lapdance - A shimmery dusty violet
French Tickler - A matte deep black with a golden glitter.

In the palette you get a great mix of sexy and sultry shades leaning towards the more purple and grey end of the spectrum. In a good variety of formulas, a selection of satin, mattes and glitter, it really is a versatile palette, the options are limitless you can go for a soft nude look or full on bold smoked up look.

As always with Too Faced eyeshadows the formula is extremely soft and so easy to blend. I cant get enough of this palette. It's a fab addition to anyone's collection and a must for a smokey sultry eye lover.

Which palettes are you loving at the moment? Do you own any Too Faced palettes? What do you make of the Boudoir palette? Let me know all your thought by commenting below.

Children in Need - The Big Learner Relay & Nail Art Competition

It's that time of year again, when people all over the country give up their time and money,to help raise funds for Children in Need. From dressing up, baking and taking part in sponsored walks, you name it people are doing it. All in the hope of creating a better life for children in the UK and around the world.

Children in Need - The Big Learner relay - Fundraising

This year my dad got involved in the Big Learner Relay the brain child of Louise Walsh. The idea being driving instructors  passing on the Children in Need top box from one car to another, over a  2,800 mile course. The course started on the 26th of October in Northern Ireland. after venturing all over the UK, the box relay concludes on the 13th of November in Swindon.  Thousands of driving instructors and pupils are taking part and Louise herself travelling the whole route The cars themselves could be covered in "sponsored spots" which people would pay to sign and stick on a car. which hopefully will help to make this years grand total the highest ever.

Children in Need - The Big Learner relay - Fundraising - show me you're spots - spotty nail art - children in need nail designs - Competition - nail looks - giveaway

My nail look is inspired by "show us you're spots and lets raise lots" It's a really easy look to create, even if you don't have a nail dotter. You can create your own with an old pen, pencil or straighten out bobby pin. Just dip the nib into some polish and get spotty.

To create the nail look -

- paint your nails white or a pale shade.
- Let them dry.
- If you have coloured nail gems leave one nail on each hand white.
- Grab a range of shades of nail varnishes.
- Pick up your nail dotter, dip it in your first shade.
- Create spots of all different sizes on different nails.
- Carry on with your other nails.
- If you have gems stick randomly on the nails you left white.

If you don't have gems don't worry you can create your own design on the blank nail or just continue creating your spots as you did on the other nails.

I'd like to say a massive congratulations and thank you to all who have have taken part in the Big Learner Relay and everyone else fundraising for Children in Need this year. I cant wait to see your designs and good luck!

Lush big bang bubble bar

Lush - Big Bang - Bubble bar - Fragranced bath product - bubble bath - review - bath water

My obsession with baths is still going strong and so is my love for Lush products. I'm really keen on bath oils and rich products this time of year as they are so relaxing as well as indulgent. However I was instantly drawn to this gorgeous bubble bar as soon as I spotted it.

Bright blue with two pink glittery stars and yellow chunks. It called to my girly fun side and who doesn't love laying in a bath filled with great smelling bubbles. The bar has a real citrus zing to it and reminds me of lemon sherbet, which I adore yet it also has a hint of sweetness to it, which may be down to the tangerine oil it contains.

Start your evening with a bang, not a whimper, and treat yourself to a colourful bubble bath filled with softening avocado butter, zesty grapefruit oil and refreshing lemon myrtle oil. Simply crumble under running water, then lie back and think of the universe.

I got two baths from this bar but you could easily get three if you're not that fussed about being surrounded by bubbles. The pink stars are actually bath melts, so are filled with moisturising ingredients. I broke that in two as well so I got a star per bath.

Lush - Big Bang - Bubble bar - Fragranced bath product - bubble bath - review - bath water

The bath water was left a lovely blue shade, which with the big white bubbles reminded me of a blue sky with big fluffy clouds. I really enjoyed the coloured water, it always makes a bath feel a little bit more special (no matter what your age) The stars had a slight bubblegum scent to them and mixed with the citrus fragrance it's a really uplifting and refreshing aroma. Without doubt this is one of my new faves and perfect for those days when you need a bit of a lift.

You can get your own Big Bang bubble from most stores and also from the Lush website. What Lush bath products are you a fan of? Do you prefer bath bombs or bubble bars? Let me know all your thoughts by commenting below.

OOTD Red Peter Pan Collar Top

Red Jumper - Peter Pan Collar - Primark - Trousers - River Island - Leggings - Over the knee boots - Flat boots - Outfit - OOTD - Outfit of the day

Top - Primark
Trousers - River Island
Over the knee boots - Amazon

Autumn is one of my favourite times of year for putting together outfits. I already had this Peter Pan collar jumper top in navy so when I saw they had it in this orangey red I had to have it. The colour is perfect for this time of year and adds a bit of colour to the darker tones that I wear in the colder months.

The top itself is a fine knit with a white collar and a white chiffon type material at the back. The floaty material at the back makes the top much more flattering as well as adding something different. It's also much cooler than wearing a shirt and a jumper together.

I teamed the top with some tight legging style trousers from River Island, which are becoming some of my most worn items. They are thicker than leggings yet just as comfortable. They are great for wearing with boots as they cling to you, so no gathering when tucked in. The double piping down the side of the leg also gives them a jodhpur style which is a classic to team with boots.

The Boots are flats and just over the knee in length. They have buckle detailing around the knee area and ankle with a rounded toe. I received as a gift last Christmas from my mum, I always pop them on when I'm struggling with what to wear or want to bring a classic jeans and t-shirt look more up to date.

I wore this for my nieces birthday party and for a family lunch afterwards. I could picture myself wearing this for so many different occasions especially for a date or out shopping.

What have you been wearing lately? What do you think of this outfit? Where would you wear this?

Dior nude air foundation

Dior - Diorskin - Nude Air - Serum De teint - Foundation - Dewy Foundation - Serum foundation - liquid foundation - sheer coverage - medium coverage - Review - Swatch - Dry skin

I have normal to dry skin and find a lot of foundations stick to the drier patches on my face and highlight it. So on my hunt for a natural looking foundation, I asked beauty expert Dave Lackie for his advice on which he would recommend. He suggested I try Dior's latest foundation Nude air Ultra- Fluid serum.

I bought the Dior skin Nude Air in the shade 020 which is a perfect match to my skin when I only have an ever so slight tan. The range of shades is quite limited so you may well struggle to find a match especially if you have a darker skin tone.

Dior - Diorskin - Nude Air - Serum De teint - Foundation - Dewy Foundation - Serum foundation - liquid foundation - sheer coverage - medium coverage - Review - Swatch - Dry skin

It comes in a beautiful lightly frosted glass jar with plastic silver coloured dropper. It definitely looks high end and luxurious, yet the plastic dropper doesn't feel extremely sturdy. I'm not to keen on the dropper as it is a slightly messy way of decanting the formula.

The formula is really running so its hard to apply straight to the face, I find the easiest way to apply is to use the dropper to put the formula directly on the brush, then blending the foundation out. A sponge / beauty blender soaks up way too much of the product. The foundation blends beautifully and does feel weightless on the skin. It gives a sheer coverage ,yet it can easily be built up to a medium coverage.

Dior Say:
A precursor in the art of natural, Dior innovates and broadens its nude makeup expertise with Diorskin Nude Air: a weightless, ultra-fluid serum as light and beneficial as a breath of fresh air, for an enhanced complexion with sheer correction. Like after a day in the great outdoors, the complexion has all the fresh, radiant beauty of a natural healthy glow.

Made with oils that evaporate instantly, the talc-free Diorskin Nude Air formula deposits an undetectable film of makeup on the skin. Its high-precision dropper easily delivers exactly the right amount.
Perfectly natural-looking makeup in an instant.
The formula enriched with soft-focus agents and glazed pigments produces an even, radiant complexion in an instant for perfect correction with a sheer finish. The complexion glows with natural beauty.
Day after day, all the benefits of a breath of pure fresh air for your skin.
Dior introduces Oxygen Activ™ technology, an innovative combination of a hyper-oxygenated oil, Cranberry oil, vitamins and minerals. Revitalised, the skin breathes and becomes more beautiful each day.

As for the glowing claims, it definitely delivers, my skin looked healthy and fresh. Not at all cakey even once built up to a heavier coverage. It dries to a gorgeous natural looking velvety finish and smooths over any dryness with ease. I'm not sure how the formula would work on oilier skin types. I have a feeling due to its serum like formula it may not stay put yet using in conjuction with the Dior Nudeair powder may help set it. On my skin it lasted all day, it felt comfortable and almost like I wasn't wearing any foundation at all.

It does have a lingering perfume scent so if you aren't keen on strongly scented make up you might want to give this a miss. However it's definitely not enough to put me off at all, the scent is pleasant and the foundation is a dream for my dry skin. It leaves your skin looking almost air brushed. It's without doubt one of my all time favourite foundations. I'm so glad I sought Dave's advice and am over the moon that I purchased this.

Have you tried this foundation? What foundation do you recommend for dry skin? Which is your go to foundation at the moment? Let me know all your thoughts by commenting below.

Lots of Love,
