Hoilday season must haves + Perfume giveaway

The party season is just around the corner and to celebrate the launch of Katy Perry's new perfume Mad Love (which is genuinely my current fave scent.) I'm teaming up with Single Edition Media and sharing with you my top holiday must haves. As well as giving one of you the chance to win your own bottle of Mad Love.

Renaissance Eyeshadow Palette - Anastasia Beverly Hills

This palette is perfect for Christmas time. With rich reds, perfect pinks as well as some much needed sparkle. There are endless glamorous looks you can create plus the velvet feeling, pink casing screams luxury.

Skin Wow Primer - Seventeen

I'm a big lover of multi tasking products and this is one of the best. Use as a primer to give a subtle glow to the skin, mix in with your foundation to give yourself a dewy complexion or use as a super pretty highlighter. Its also a real bargain.

Make up Brushes - Zoeva

Not only are these some of the most stunning brushes around they are also some of the best. I have had mine for months and they are still as good as new. If you want flawless make up application then these are the ones I'd recommend.

Mad Love - Katy Perry

There is no doubt this beautiful light pink rounded glass bottle will look amazing on any dressing table. The embossed heart shaped design is inspired by the seals of old romantic love letters and cupids bow is wrapped around the elegant neck of the bottle. Yet its the dreamy scent that really set this fragrance apart from others.

Addictive from the start, this playfully sexy floriental fruity fragrance opens with the succulence of Lady Apple Sorbet and Mara Strawberry blended to perfection with the freshness of delicious Pink Grapefruit. Middle notes of Peony Petals, smooth Sun-Kissed Jasmine, and the hypnotic pull of the Bleeding Heart flower captivate the senses. Indulgent warmth builds in the background with the allure of Coconut Wood, Skin Musk, and ever so sensual Sandalwood.

The essence of the Bleeding Heart flower is said to purify and strengthen the Heart Chakra, bringing an open-hearted attitude, soothing emotions, and re-inviting the spirit of love into one’s body and soul.

If you enjoy fun yet flirty scents this is one for you, mischievous yet not too young. I really can't get enough of this sexy fragrance, its the perfect blend of fruity and floral with the added depth of musk. I'm sure its a scent you wont be able to resist.

Sounds lush doesn't it ? Well here's your chance to bag one for yourself!! One lucky winner will get their very own bottle of #KPmadlove.

Worst Period of her life

Worst Period of Her Life - Action Aid - Poster - women in need - periods - sanitary products - help - young women
Image from Action Aid.

Being a girl can be hard especially when you're young on the cusp of being a woman. Trying to navigate yourself thru a mix of hormones, your body changing and finding out who you are, it really is a stressful time! Not to mention PERIODS, whether you were anxious for them to start. terrified at the thought of them, totally unaware of periods at all or even if you were fully prepared and aware, it can still a bit of an unsettling, embarrassing and scary time when you first notice some marks in your knickers.

While in a shopping centre toilet a week or so ago, I noticed a poster from action aid. Which was all about donating money for sanitary products to girls in war torn, impoverished and third world countries.

I immediately remembered my first period and how I'd known about them and understood what would happen when they did start. I still started crying sat on the toilet calling for my mum to come upstairs. I was 11 years old at the time and didn't feel ready to deal with it. I was still carefree playing make believe and acting like a child not wanting to worry about leaks and stomach pains.

Even though I found the whole thing really annoying and embarrassing I could talk to my mum and get advice on how to deal with it. Some girls aren't so lucky. Imagine having to cope with all the stresses of starting your period on your own with no family, no clean clothes and no sanitary products. I wouldn't have dreamt of even going to the shops to buy pads, when I was young. The thought people knowing you were on your period was soooo cringey and I would send my mum to stock up instead. These young girls don't even have the luxury of being able to purchase them.

Worst Period of Her Life - Action Aid - Poster - women in need - periods - sanitary products - help - young women
Image from http://www.want2donate.org/

I was prepared and was still scared yet some of the young ladies don't have a clue what is happening to them. With no one to turn to, explain that its natural or products to help them feel clean and embarrassment free. I can't even fathom how those girls must feel. The thought of the poster and the girls stuck with me even now days later. ActionAid the charity mentioned in the poster. Really do some amazing work with people suffering all over the world and this is just one of the many campaigns they run. If you would like to help by donating or to find out more about the work the charity does check out their website here Action Aid.

Think back to when you were young, how would you have coped? What if it was your child or younger sister? It's gut wrenching to see young women in such heart breaking circumstances. If we could make the situation a little  easier for them, how amazing would that be! Let's give these girls one less thing to worry about.

Lots of love,

Why I took a break from blogging

Wow it feels like such a long time since I have posted a new blogpost. It's been over a month since my last post. Which is the longest break I've had from blogging in a long time. I thought it was only fair I fill you in on why I haven't been blogging.

I have touched upon my issues with my mental health before yet have felt they had been under control, until a few months ago.

I suddenly realised I wasn't coping again and had let things like my anxiety take a hold of me. So I decided to take a step back from blogging for a while and use that extra time to look after myself.

Anxiety is a constant cycle and once you let it get out of hand, it is so hard to break. I'll feel anxious so I won't go out, so then I'll feel isolated and guilty about letting people down. Which leads me to feel depressed and I'll worry about everything. This in turn makes me feel even more anxious.

I don't really know at what age I started to suffer with mental health problems but it was first addressed when I was roughly 15. I have had lots of different types of therapy and counselling over the years since then.

I haven't ever coped well with stress or change they are some of my main triggers. After getting help with my underlying issues and stopping all of my old unhealthy coping mechanisms, I was left feeling overly anxious.

From about the age of 20 I was crippled with anxiety to the point I didn't leave the house. I had lost a tremendous amount of weight due to the constant worrying and developed a unhealthy relationship with food. Whenever I'd have an anxiety attack I felt that I was going to be sick or go to the toilet. I hated feeling full and I wouldn't want to eat before going out or seeing people, in case I needed the dreaded panic poo! Lol

My mum and fiancé Dave saw how ill I was and literally dragged me to the doctors. I was put on medication and had CBT. which helped me get out and about slightly more. After being referred to lots of different doctors and trying lots of different combinations of tablets and therapies. I was so much better than I was. I could eat in front of people and was managing to go out with my friends again, even managing to attend a few events with Dave. Even though I was a lot better I still battled with my anxiety on and off with it coming in waves.

Yet things changed, all got on top of me again a couple of months ago. my panic attacks were happening more and more frequently, which made my circle of places I felt safe get smaller. I was getting down about having to miss out on opportunities because of my anxiety. Then I ended up having a massive panic attack at home for no reason and I thought enough was enough, I clearly wasn't coping anymore. so I decided I would go back to the doctors and take a break from blogging to focus on getting back on track. The doctors have changed up my tablets and I'm now finding things a bit easier since the tablets have kicked in. I'm now in a much better place for fighting my anxiety even though it's still an ongoing problem, it is improving. I'm so lucky to have such an amazing group of friends and family around me who have been with me every step of the way.

I hope this helped you understand why I haven't been as active on here and on social media. If you're suffering with anxiety or any other mental health problem please do go seek help. You're not on your own and you don't have to suffer in silence. Thanks for all your emails and tweets etc asking me if I'm ok! Your support means the world to me. Although I'm not anxiety free and still struggle to get out on my own I'm getting there!

If you'd like to see more posts about my anxiety, living with a mental illness or if you have any questions please let me know!  Or if you just need someone to talk too I'm always here.

Lots of love,

The Boohoo games - Going for gold in the Lash Lifting

Boohoo - The Boohoo games - Gold smokey eye - Eye look - Halo eye - golden - false eyelashes - Outfit - outfit of the day - maxi dress - sandals - zoeva - cocca blend - make up - khaki dress

With 2016 Rio Olympics in full swing, Boohoo have created their own games to celebrate, with bloggers competing in various different "sports" each one requiring different skills. I was picked to take part in the lash lifting! Where I had to take my lash game to new heights and pair it with my best beauty look.

So in the spirit of the Olympics I chose to create a gold look, as like all Olympicians I was going for gold in my sport lol. I picked the fullest looking set from the site which was the Natural Lash set from Technic which surprisingly only cost £3 which is a real bargain especially since it comes with its own little tube of glue. The lashes are beautifully full and fluttery, just what I look for when I pick lashes.

All set to take on the challenge, I used my Zoeva cocca blend palette to created a golden soft smoky halo eye. Then popped on the lashes, which lasted all day and were actually really comfortable. Here's a close up of the look.

Boohoo - The Boohoo games - Gold smokey eye - Eye look - Halo eye - golden - false eyelashes - Outfit - outfit of the day - maxi dress - sandals - zoeva - cocca blend - make up - khaki dress

I paired the look with my khaki green cold shoulder maxi dress and my tan coloured roman style sandals, then for a added bit of glamour threw on my gold cuff bracelet. The dress is one of those fab easy to wear dresses that can easily been dressed up or down. The black version is definitely on my wishlist.

Cold shoulder Dress - Boohoo £15.00
Lace up Sandals - Boohoo £15.00
Gold Panelled Arm Cuff - Boohoo £6.00

I love this whole look especially with my newly dyed dark hair. What do you think of this look? What sort of look would you have created? Do you shop at Boohoo? Let me know all your thoughts by commenting below.

Panasonic slow juicer - Dessert off!

Panasonic have just released their brand new slow juicer, the MJ- L500. A compact and sleek looking machine that takes the hassle out of juicing. Producing nutritious and delicious beverages in mere minutes. It also comes with a frozen attachment meaning you can also create fresh frozen sorbets and frozen yogurt desserts.

Panasonic - Slow Juicer - Frozen dessert - Healthy dessert - Alcoholic desert -review - contest

I was lucky enough to receive one to try out which is brilliant news as I plan on doing a juice cleanse in a few weeks, which I will be blogging about soon. Before I get stuck into my juice detox. I thought I'd get Mum and Dave to join me and have some fun creating some frozen summer treats.

We decided we would each create our own unique recipe, make them ourselves and decide the winner! We had a lot of laughs and things did get a little competitive with Mum and Dave. Mum ended up keeping her planned deSsert strictly underwraps as Dave kept threatening to copy her lol

So here is what we came up with!

Dessert Number 1 - Nut enough
Panasonic - Slow Juicer - Frozen dessert - Healthy dessert - Alcoholic desert -review - contest
A frozen creamy dessert. Created with almond flavour soya yogurt, yummy frozen banana, smooth peanut butter. Not to mention chia seeds and ground almonds, with an added dash of Manuka honey. A great ice cream substitute with lots of added healthy components. Perfect for the health conscious.

Dessert Number 2 - Caribbean Calypso
Panasonic - Slow Juicer - Frozen dessert - Healthy dessert - Alcoholic desert -review - contest
A smooth Caribbean inspired frozen dessert. The ideal accompaniment for a hot summers evening. With a base of fresh natural yogurt and coconut milk. Alongside a blend of juicy pineapple chunks with a generous helping of White Rum to get the party started.

Dessert Number 3 - Wimbleberry Fizz
Panasonic - Slow Juicer - Frozen dessert - Healthy dessert - Alcoholic desert -review - contest
A zingy strawberry and Prosecco sorbet. Created with a punnent of fresh strawberries
with a few glugs of prosecco and a tad of caster sugar to enhance the fizz. A fitting dessert for the British summer, whilst watching the tennis.

Once we had all enjoyed tasting each other's desserts although we all preferred our own. (Not that anyone was biased lol) Do let me know which you think looks and sounds the tastiest!

I'm over the moon with this juicer, it's perfect for creating healthy juices and desserts. I have been creating lots of gorgeous drinks since I have got it even getting my nan involved in making a juice. The machine itself was super easy to assemble and really compact so takes up little to no counter space. It was much quieter than I imagined and I love the fact that slow juicing process squeezes extra juice and nutrients out of all the ingredients. The cleaning process wasn't even as much of a hassle as I thought it would be. This will without doubt be getting a lot of use and I can also see it becoming a staple at family gatherings for making chilled cocktails and after dinner treats!

Which Dessert would you choose as your winner? What sort of dessert would you make with the juicer? Have you ever tried juicing or a juice diet.  Let me know your thoughts by commenting below

Love Me Beauty Bag!

Love Me Beauty subscription service is without doubt one of the best in my opinion. I love how you can pick and choose what you receive by spending your points on each product or have a total surprise.  They always have a good mix of newer brands and trusted favourites which is great. I also adore that they now sent you your goodies in little make up bags that vary in design each month! They are super cute as well as really handy.

So lets jump into what I received in my make up bag.

Love me Beauty - beauty box - Trilogy - Rosehip oil - Lord & berry - seta eyeshadow - tangle teezer - popband - nuxe - gel exfoliator - nails inc - cailyn - liquid lipstick - review - swatches
PopBand - Hair tie

Popbands are delicious soft, stretchy 'no dent' hair ties that hold ponytails up tight, but still leave hair fresh and kink-free when you take it down! Plus they won't rip or damage hair like regular hair bands. When you're not using your Popband to hold up your hair, wear it on your wrist as a super-cute bracelet.
Kind on your hair, cute on your wrist - Popbands are the fashion accessories you won't be able to resist. You'll never look at your old bobbles or scrunchies in the same way again!

These are the only hairbands I use nowadays they are much less damaging than normal hair ties. So I was over the moon at receiving another to add to my collection. Plus I really like the gorgeous soft pastel golden shade.

Tangle teezer - Professional detangling hairbrush

The multi award winning Original Tangle Teezer in the shade Blueberry Pop is the ultimate detangling hair brush, a revolution in hair care!
Banish tangles and knots with a minimum of fuss, breakage or damage with the Tangle Teezer detangling brush uniquely designed with teeth that glide through your hair leaving it soft and shiny without tugging and pulling.

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this. I have been meaning to pick up a tangle teezer for ages. Due to all the constant bleaching and colouring my hair has been left quite damaged so anything that can help reduce any breakage is great. I have been using this since I first received it and I have noticed my hair isn't snapping nearly as much as before.

This gorgeous little nail polish is from NailsInc is from the Power pastel collection. I love pastel shades and this cool mint shade is perfect for the summer months. I cant wait to pop this on my toes.

Nuxe - Gentle Exfoliating Gel

This Exfoliating Facial Gel with Rose Petals gently exfoliates and eliminates dead skin cells. A gel texture with gentle exfoliating grains to reveal refined skin. Leaves skin soft and clear, and more radiant than ever.

Nuxe products are always a winner, they always leave my skin really soft and nourished. I haven't used this before but I have really high hopes for this. I tend to exfoliate my face at least once a week but find some exfoliators can leave my skin quite sensitive so this gel gentle gel formula sound great.

CAILYN Pure Lust Extreme Matte Tint creates a vivid explosion of color on lips with continuous coverage that lasts! A unique infusion delivers a waterproof, non-sticky, matte finish in a single stroke for chic lips. Available in 24 addicting shades.

I am rather hesitant when using matte lipsticks as they can be drying. However I have tried a Cailyn matte lip colour before and it wasn't as drying as others I have tried. The shade is a gorgeous warm dusty peach nude which is a shade I am really drawn to, so I will definitely be giving this a go.

Lord & Berry - Seta Eyeshadow in Victoria

This highly-pigmented pressed eyeshadow is Lord & Berry’s classic staple eye colour. Its silky formula glides on smoothly and blends easily. Perfect for creating both a sheer glaze of colour or a hi-definition richer, darker look.

I have quite a few Lord & Berry products and have always been really impressed by their high quality formulas and sleek packaging. This eyeshadow is in the shade Victoria and is a gorgeous moss shade with a fine gold glitter. It is really pigmented yet blends beautifully, perfect for creating an evening look.

Valeur Absolue - perfume in Confiance

Valeur Absolue, where the delicate art of high-end perfumery meets aromachology and neuro-cosmetics. We design our perfumes (or elixirs of well-being) to enhance emotions in a woman’s life.
The addition of carefully chosen essential oils and trace elements help cause the body’s natural release of beta-endorphins, also known as “the feel-good molecule”.
Hand made in the South of France, each bottle visibly contains semi-precious stones which enhance the richness of the formula and embody each perfume’s emotion.
Confiance is an intense and comforting perfume, built around an enveloping and tender vanilla, which, together with the other extracts weaves a refined, elegant and addictive fragrance.

Another surprise as you don't normally get such big perfume samples if at all in beauty boxes. The concept behind Valeur Absolue is really interesting, I really do believe in power of scents. The scent Confiance is meant to help restore balance, increase your sense of wellbeing and promote self confidence. I suffer really severely with anxiety, so I'm really intrigued to see if this helps at all. The scent itself is stunning and a little goes along way.

I'm honestly blown away by the amount of products I received especially as they have some really renowned and loved brands. Its also such a good mix of skincare, hair products and make up. Plus I can't not mention the gorgeous bag it all comes in! What more could you want!

Have you tried any of these products? Do you subscribe to any beauty boxes? what product would you most like to give a go? Let me know all your thoughts by commenting below.

How to make the most of your face masks

A lot of us use a facemask either just as an occasional treat or as part of your regular  routine. Yet facemasks are a brilliant way of instantly improving the look of your skin. Today I'm sharing some vital tips to help you make the most of your face mask and see the best results.

Time to get steamy - Steaming your face before hand is a brilliant way of loosening up dirt and blocked pores. Helping the grime to be removed and for the mask to really get in to the skin. So steaming your face before using a mask is a great idea, or even just using a mask after a shower is better .

Using the right masks - Read the instructions and find out if its suitable for your skin type. Lots of us get carried away after hearing fab reviews about a product but everybody's skin is different and has different needs. I have also been known to buy a mask because I like the sound of the scent only for it to do nothing for my skin.

Try multi masking - This is swiftly becoming the new buzzword in skincare yet is something that has been used in profession facials for years. The idea is to use different masks for different parts of your face. Which makes a lot of sense when you think about it, you may have an oily t zone yet dryness on your cheeks. So you mix and match the face mask you use on different areas.

I found the only way to do this cost effectively is to buy tubes or jars of facemasks as opening multiple sachets is really wasteful.

Give your masks a new home - Not that much of an issue if you have single use sachets as they are for only one use but if you have jars ,. you might want to rethink where you store your masks. The warm and damp conditions of a bathroom is a breeding ground for bacteria. A cool dry place is the best place to store your masks and keep them fresher for longer.

Bring it down - Don't forget to apply your mask to your neck and even the top of your chest. These areas are often neglected and are also are one of the areas that show the first signs of ageing. They can also be prone to blemishes as well so will benefit from a good pampering.

Get tooled up - using a brush to apply the mask helps with precision application, which is a must if you are trying out multi masking, it also stops you applying too much and wasting your mask. Also using your hands could spread bacteria giving you pesky blemishes.

Tone, tone, tone - Using a toner after a mask is really important, a toner restores your skins natural PH balance. It also helps lock in all the benefits of the mask you just used.

Don't reclog - It can be really tempting to apply more moisturiser after a face mask especially if you have used one made to dry out oily areas. However don't lather your skin in serums and moisturisers this will only reclog pores. Keep it light and use no more than usual or you will just filling up your pores with lots of product.

I hope you found these tips helpful and your skin can reap the rewards of your facemask. Let me know if you have any tips for making the most of a face mask? Do you use a facemask regularly? I'd also love to hear your facemask recommendations. Let me know all your thoughts by commenting below.

Latest in Beauty - Weekend away Box

I adore a beauty box, receiving a box of treats is always a great way to start the week! Latest in Beauty offer some of the best beauty boxes in my opinion. Rather than a monthly subscription and tying yourself to a contract. You can just pick up one of their ever changing themed boxes, whenever you see one that takes your fancy. This works out much better value for money as you can pass on boxes that you wouldn't use.

One of the newest themed boxes available is the weekend away box which features travel friendly size products that make packing for any trip a breeze. This box is filled with everything you could need, from hair products to nail polish. The box costs £20 and is packed to the brim with exciting products.

Charles Worthington - Moisture seal hair healer leave-in conditioner.

Garnier - Miracle Sleeping Cream

An innovative night cream that helps to reduce the signs of fatigue by leaving skin intensely hydrated brighter and more radiant. From the first application skin will instantly look smoother and healthier.

A night cream is a must in my skincare routine especially if I'm travelling as this can really suck the moisture from your skin. My skin is dry anyway which makes my skin look rather lacklustre . I have really high hopes that this will leave my skin looking more replenished.

OOTD - Clueless inspired Outfit with New Look

OOTD - Outfit of the day - Clueless - Cher - 90's - inspired - Outfit - backpack - styling - get the look - layered top - New Look - Trainers - Leggings

Black 2 in 1 Cami T-Shirt* - New Look £17.99
Black Elasticated Waist Leggings* - New Look £12.99
White Faux Leather Lace Up Trainers* - New Look £12.99
Black Push Lock Backpack* - New Look £19.99

Clueless is one of my all time favourite films and the outfits have become as iconic as the films themselves. So when New Look got in touch and asked if I would like to recreate a student look from a film I automatically thought of Clueless, especially since the 90's are back in fashion lately. I quickly grabbed my old DVD and re watched it immediately, keeping a beady eye on all the fantastic outfits.

One of my favourite looks from the film, that in my opinion is one of the most wearable ,is the outfit Cher wears at the tennis class. I decided this would be the perfect look to recreate as Sports Luxe is also a big trend at the moment. Although not as legendary as Cher's yellow checked blazer and matching skirt. For me it is the epitome of 90's style.

In the scene Cher is wearing a White T shirt with a black vest over the top and black lycra shorts. I found this 2 in 1 layered top which is in the same style as the tops worn by Cher. I updated the look by swapping the lycra shorts for leggings. Which makes the look much more modern and easier to wear in the British unpredictable weather. Plus not being keen on my legs these make me feel much more comfortable. The leggings also have a thicker waist band than most leggings so if you're like me and your leggings are always gapping and falling down then these are a must have.

I paired the top and leggings with some bright white leather like lace up trainers, which are surprisingly super comfy. I'll definitely get a lot of wear out of them and are amazing for only £12.99. They will look fab with a variety of outfits and are ideal for throwing on when running around completing errands while still looking swish.

Lastly to team the whole look together and because no outfit is complete with out a bag. I picked this gorgeous leather looking black backpack with gold hardwear. I love this bag its big enough to fit in all your essentials while still looking stylish. It also looks much more expensive than it is at £19.99.

Whether your heading to class or to the shops this outfit is the ultimate combination of trendy and comfort. For lots of outfit inspiration and tips galore check out the New Look student hub. I actually can't get enough of this look and on colder days will be grabbing myself a black bomber jacket and feeling a total betty!

The art of smiling - Q+A Botox for a gummy smile

If you have read my post from a few weeks ago (if not its here) you will know I recently had Botox and lip fillers. In my previous post, I discussed why I wanted to change my smile and shared my Botox before and after pictures. In todays post I thought I would share what the experience of getting Botox was like and answer some questions about the procedure. I'm talking about the two procedures, I have had separately ,as I didn't have them on the same day and are both different. I will be discussing my lip filler experience in my next post.

Firstly I know everyone bangs on about it but if you are looking to get your any sort of injectable,it is so important to find a professional who has experience in whatever procedure your undergoing. I can't stress this enough .Its your face, you cant hide it. So I really would urge you to go to a Doctor or nurse. Not only is there less chance of it going wrong but they are trained medically so if god forbid anything did happen they know how to deal with the situation and correct it.

My Botox treatment was carried out by Dr Sophie Shotter at Illuminate Skin Clinic in Kent. After a long discussion about what I wanted and what my expectations were. I felt we were on the same wavelength straight away and was impressed by her in depth knowledge of facial injectables. I without doubt felt I was in safe hands.

I have received lots of questions about the actual procedure and what it involves. So I thought I would answer them below.

Questions and Answers -

Where do you get injections to help reduce a gummy smile?
A common misconception is that you receive the Botox in your lips so many people where confused as to why I had the injections near my nose. Yet this is where the muscles responsible for lifting up the lip are the placed.

How does it work?
Botox (Botulinum toxin) works by temporarily blocking nerve impulses in the injected muscles. Therefore reducing the movement in the muscle. In gummy smiles it reduces the amount your lip is lifted when smiling, exposing less gum.

What happens in the procedure? How long does it take?
To be honest it was over in a flash. I went into the treatment room and Dr Sophie cleansed the area. Warned me that it may sting as the area is very sensitive. Then I received two injections one either side of the bottom of my nose. The procedure itself took no more than two minutes. Then the Dr checked I was ok and I was done!

Is it painful?
This is quite a delicate area yet I wouldn't say it was painful, it was more of an quick sting. My eyes did water but was no more painful than any other injection. I didn't have any pain after the injections either. I would say it was 2/10 pain wise.

Are the results instant?
The results aren't instant but you should notice results after 4 days. After 2 weeks the full results will be achieved. I noticed the difference around 5 days after treatment.

Is it permanent?  How Long does it last?
Botox isn't permanent and the duration it lasts varies. Each persons body breaks down the Botox at a different rate. However the results tend to last between 3-5 months

What are the side effects?
You may experience discomfort, bruising or swelling in the treatment area. You may also get a headache from the injections. In rare cases people are allergic to Botox but this is extremely rare. However I didn't experience any side effects. This is another reason to go to a professional so you can seek advice if you suffer any irregular side effects.

How much does it cost?
Prices vary between clinics but on average are around £200 for one area. Some places do offer Botox for less however they may be using a lower quality of Botox. so its worth remembering results wont be as good or last as long. At Illuminate Skin clinic you can also get a small top up free of charge if needed at your 2 week check up ,which is brilliant.

Botox Aftercare Tips

- Always follow any aftercare advice given by your physician.
- Do not lie down flat for 4 hours after treatment.
- Avoid rubbing or massaging the area that has been treated for 2 weeks - this includes facials.
- Avoid bending forward for prolonged periods of time.
- Aspirin, Ibuprofen and alcohol should all be avoided for 24 hours after treatment as this can increase bruising.
- Avoid intense exercise, saunas, steam rooms and sunbathing for at least 48 hours after treatment.
- If you have any concerns get in contact with your physician.

I really hoped this helped answer some of your questions about Botox and getting Botox to reduce a gummy smile. If you are interesting in getting Botox yourself and want to know more check out Illuminate Skin Clinic which has lots of helpful information. Or if you are in the South East and looking at injectables or other treatments, I cant recommend Illuminate Skin Clinic highly enough.

Lots of Love,
